Curious, because Obama banned refugees from Iraq from entering the country in 2011 and there was hardly any outrage. Also hardly any outrage when he said "I believe that letting Muslims in the United states right now would be reckless due to the growth of terror groups in the Middle East" - 2009 So why is everyone suddenly mad now? Is hating Trump still the flavor of the month?

2011: Obama Administration limits incoming travel from Iraq after confirming that extremists infiltrated the USA through the visa program. This prompted review of the vetting process. 2016: Trump Administration prohibits travel from 7 Muslim nations for all nationals, including those with dual citizenship, visas and green cards (ie, legal US residents) without evidence of a pressing security threat.

Trump is trying to ban 6 more countries and is only targeting Muslims. Obama wasn't preferential to Christians or discriminatory to any religion.

Why? He bans countries that have not harmed a single american with terroist, yet he does not ban Saudi Arabia, Egybt and united arab emirates which combined have killed like 5k americans. That's why, if you can't see the idiocy in this then you are truly stupid

"including those with dual citizenship, visas and green cards (ie, legal US residents) without evidence of a pressing security threat" The State Department stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011, federal officials told ABC News – even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets. -ABC news article Isn't what obama did in 2011 far worse then? "and is only targeting Muslims." Funnily enough the worlds largest Muslim countries aren't banned.

What is worse? Banning access from 7 or 1 country? Discriminating against a religion or not? How was Obama worse lol

"Trump is trying to ban 6 more countries and is only targeting Muslims." Explain to me how this is specifically targeting muslims, seeing as the EO he issued didn't mention the words "Muslim" "Islam" or "Islamic" once, and left the largest muslim countries in the world off the list.

Because media such as CNN make it sound like he's "Banning Muslims" and is being racist, when reality he just halting immigration from 7 nations.

"This ban is in response to radical terrorism and ##### Ofc this is targeting muslims" Then how come he didn't ban Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, or Pakistan and how come Obamas ban of Iraqi refugees in 2011 wasn't considered targeting muslims?

Trump has explicitly stated that Syrian Christians will be allowed into the USA, sir. Reuters, CNN, NYT, and Fox all concur.

Just because a biil or EO etc may not include certain words does not mean it is not targeted towards that group of people or thing. If a mansion tax came into effect. Ofc it is going to target the wealthy over the poor earners.

Must I remind everyone, this is a temporary ban therefore the united states has leisure to find a permanent screening solution.
Falsewarrior000
#208517694Sunday, January 29, 2017 10:19 PM GMT

May I remind you that Trump has presented NO (zilch, nadda, zero) evidence that the system needs additional screening?

My uncle pointed out the fact that not a single nation responsible for the 9/11 attacks were blacklisted simply because he has businesses located in those nations. So I suppose there's that. Smoke your green, I'm spending mine.

You are correct, it did not include the world 'islam' or 'muslim.' The Executive Order was very indirect as it is only accepting entrance for people from those countries who are in the minority religion. Thus, as Islam is the majority in all the seven counties, the Trump establishment has very snidely discriminated Muslims in those nations.

"The precedent is as bad as a permanent ban. " This isn't a precedent at all, immigration has been halted from multiple countries many times before in the history of the United States
