A breif history, of The Gorvech Voneur.

(HISTORICAL CONTEXT/ALTERNATE HISTORY) The year is 1914. German had just entered WWI, after the assassination of Archduke ##### ######### in Austria. This assassination triggered the allied countries of Germany and Austro-Hungary to mobilize troops against Serbia, and its allies. Germany sought to expand westward, and intended to invade France. But, France was too heavily armed and fortified for the Germans to mount a direct assault. So, the Germans decided to implement a plan that had been compiled and made years before the war. This plan, was called "The Schlieffen Plan," which involved the Germans sending troops into France via invading Belgium. So, using the plan, they invaded, and as a direct result, completely toppled the government of Belgium, and instilling a Brussels-Biased occupation force. But, alas, the Belgium army was not yet defeated. Three years pass, and a small military unit has formed out of the surviving regiments left behind from the invasion. This Regiment was called "The Gorvech." During this period, the allies had heavily bombarded the German forces along the western cost. And because of this, the German occupation force was growing weaker, and the Gorvech's liberation force was growing stronger. A year passes, and in 1918, the Americans get involved in the war. Their overwhelming numbers trample the German forces, and they are forces off the Western cost completely. Following this, the Gorvech began claiming the newly freed land. Germany was eventually defeated in 1919, and the Gorvech claimed even more land. By 1920, the Gorvech had claimed a land mass roughly the size of Pre-War Austro-Hungary. After much campaigning, the Gorvech's claim to the land was officially recognized on January 27th, 1920. And in doing so, they where official a country, designated "The Gorvech Voneur." Through the decade of the 1920s, The Gorvech Voneur made many innovations in technological and scientific fields. They adopted Ford's assembly line, and made factories all over the country. By the early 1930s, the Gorvech was a stable of European innovation. But, things started to turn bad by the mid 1930s. During the mid 1930s, tensions began to rise between the Gorvech, and other European countries. What remained of Germany, openly stated that they would invade Gorvech if given the chance, and countries like British, America, and even France, where in high tentioons between the rising fascist parties erupting through Germany. The Gorvech, strongly opposed the new German political parties. Through the remaining late 1930s, tentions continued to increase, and by the early 1940s, talk of a possible war spread. Only this time, Gorvech would be prepared to fight, at all costs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (G-ZONE 2) G-ZONE 2 is a stark reminder of the Horrors of war during WWI. During Belgium's military campaign against the German invaders, the Germans deployed an extensive amount of Gas-Baised weaponry to the frontlines. Gas was used to such an extent, that in some areas, the soil was condensed with concentrated chlorine. Scientists predicted that Chlorine Gas levels would not reach safe levels for more then 30 years. Skip to 1929, The Gorvech officially mandates that ALL civilians living within the areas classified as G-ZONE 2 (Areas of unsafe concentrations of toxic gasses) must wear a gasmask when outdoors. Gasmasks are issued to civilians with no fees or payment, and are considered completely free of change. Their one purpose is to protect the civilian from harmful pathogens. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (WEAPONS AND ARMOMENTS) During the German occupation of Belgium, the Gorvech utilized German military technolodgy, thanks to it's reliability, and it's versatility during WWI. As the decades passed, The Gorvech used this weaponry, and expanded apon it. They created weaponry similar to the German's, and in some cases, even superior. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Future history shall be written as it plays out.
