Roblox filtering is getting too out of hand. Rocitizens had to change the desc because of the filtering on it. They aren't even censoring "adult" words anymore. They censor everyday words now. I've had to change my role play name so many times because it they hashtag half the names i choose. Names actual people have(it censored the name ################## Also, question, why do Rp names have a stricter filter than the chat system, it doesn't make much sense to me. Anyway, its like i'm always in safe chat mode, it's crazy. Overall, Roblox needs to change its filter/censorship system. Make kids under 13 see hashtags, make kids over 13 only see hashtags for inappropriate words. Remember the days when hashtags were only for younger kids, now even people over 18 who still play see them everywhere. |

My account has been set to 13+ since i made this account, this is my second account and i ditched the other one because i made the mistake of using my real age on that one |

i think roblox has this super strict filter because there has been more reports of exploits, so the filter blocks most of the exploits until roblox patches it and we can once again, chat freely |

People will try to circumvent to express what they have to say, and will use code. Cant keep just adding words to the filter. You'll end up with a social game without social contact. It doesnt work. I've just implemented custom ship names for my game and the filter filters out at least ###### of the normal regular non-adult names! Things like 'guam'(yes the island), 'First Ship', ANY NUMBER IN ARABIC (0..9), some roman numerals, 'USS Excelsior' (but not USS Enterprise), etc etc.. Strangely enough it does not filter spunk. This is using the FilterStringForBroadcast() function which is designed for public names (and accordingly uses the <13 yr filter). Any way, totally unworkable. |

The thing is, this isn't Roblox's filter system. They're using a third-party filter by CommunitySift. Nevertheless, support.

It's completely crazy. I have a friend who's name is littleNipper999(or little ####### but replace the m with an N and the Ls with Ps.) and his name is censored whenever I try to look him up so it ends up coming out as ############### and no search results are found. What is even the problem with typing straight up swear words into the search bar anyways? It's not like kids read it. |

I mean, I remember way back in 2012 how there were ways around swear words but kids would ignore them. You can't step around censors for too long before you strip the social workings of a game out and leave it with a bunch of silent users walking around doing nothing. Every two sentences you have to stop and rework wordings to make it work. Even then, people still find ways around censors so in the end it doesn't even matter how much you censor the game! |
