I sent this to [email protected] and I got a simple response, nothing wrong with it but I wanted to know what should be added, anything that would benefit the updating of the filter system
I'm not here to point out the obvious, the filter is broken. But I think I have some pointers, you may already know it but it's good to pitch in
The issue with the filter is the need to block terms and not individual words, the filter you made works on a basis of single words that are blocked (I.E The filter takes the feather, the goal is to take the entire chicken)
Let me give an example
(Hey lets go to ### store) In this example this statement is Offensive, but ### filter will only block ### word Store. But you would like the entire sentence to be removed, due to context, many jokes are like this. So you would make Hey lets go to the #####, but it is easy for kids to fill in the blanks to add spaces in between the words. So you would like the e###re statement gone, but the f###er has picked up individual words and fragments of these offensive terms, and started blocking them like the l###er A, and The. ####If you look on the forums, there are a lot words are now blotches in forum posts with normal words being filtered, the issue lies in the programming of the filter. The way you set it up picks up commonly filtered sentences, and tries to track patterns for newly offensive terms and slogans. The i###e is weeding out the e###r###### ####f##########s up as offensive terms, this would remove those complaints and keep forum posts clear and conversations on roblox like before.
I don't know nothing about programming, but the functions you would use would revolve around if words like the are in an offensive statement, but if it's not in such words be able to not filter them into pound signs.
