First off, there are 2 versions of the story. We have the Deep Winter universe, and the main universe. Let's start out with my personal favorite version, and the one we will be focusing on in this post, Deep Winter.
So in this version a doctor by the name of Azrael Leviticus. Before The flash. He had been studying the methods used by the plague doctors of the Black Death, because a new illness had been spreading. Suddenly, the bombs fall. Luckily, Azrael was in his basement, hundreds of miles away from any nukes when they fell. He immerged the day later, witnessing the destruction. He realised the mutation and thought that he could fix it, but he needed a gas mask. He rummaged through his shelves and found the plague doctor mask, meant for keeping out aerial disease. He stuck it on, along with the robes to protect his body. Weeks later, many others have immerged. He started collecting people, building a group men that he has almost brainwashed into following him. They are formed as an official faction 3 weeks after the bombs, and try to come up with a cure for 4 years. On November 25, 2036 a cure for RAD-1 is formed, but quickly runs out due to lacking supplies. The Neo Plague Doctors are devastated, but still need money. They develop a random concoction that does nothing and is dirt cheap. They trick people into calling for care, only to end up killing them and their family. The people of the town usually believed it was a mutant attack. They would continue this until 2045 when the USCPF eventually finds out, bringing a team of specialists at night to their underground base, where they would place pipe bombs around the room, and wait outside the door for any survivors to come out, then they would kill them instantly. This was the end of The Neo Plague Doctors. |
