honestly any new nvidia card
im using a gtx 1080 and woo it workin pretty good
amd's aren't really optmized for most of the new high graphic things like nvidia is so that's why i say this

if you have a 1440p/4k/144hz monitor get a 1070 or a 1080

1080s cost ap retty penny but u never said u needed a budget build
a friend of mine has a 1050 and he can run For honor on max graphics at 80 FPS
so look into that i guess

then go for a 1060 with 6gb VRAM, it's the sweet-spot for 1080p games
and 8gb RAM will do you fine unless you're rendering or stuff like that

i'd look into an amd sapphire rx 480 8gb also, which is basically the equivalent of the nvidia gtx 1060
there's little difference in performance, though amd is known to have better driver support over the long term and this has been shown in the gains it's made recently compared to the 1060
i'm no expert, but at £210 it's good price/performance, though 1060 and others are also
a 1060/480 8gb will allow you to play 1080p 60fps+ (cpu allowing, of course)

the r9 390 uses up 4 million times power than the closes nvidia equivalent which would probably be the 970/980
So I'll probably be okay. I think mine is a 650w gold

Just better performance and some future proofing
8gb ram, gpu: r9 390 8gb vram, cpu: i7 4790k and an msi 970 m/b
i could go up to a 1080 if i want but since my monitor is limited to 60hz there's no real reason for me to be going that high
