Joanna's government, better known as Joanna's loyalists is a group of people that have sworn loyalty to Lady Joanna and her children, it was once a type of council during Lord Tywin's reign, until he "retired" then he left the Seven Kingdoms, and he hasn't returned not a single letter.
Joanna's Government is now a pretty much unavailable group, most of it's members are Family of House Lannister, Lady Joanna didn't have many friends. As yo##can see above many members are former, they either betrayed Lady Joanna during Tytos's reign or they died.
Joanna's government/council is originally founded and created by Tywin Lannister for Joanna, Tywin and Joanna thought that Tywin would die before Joanna does. Therefore he created a council just for Joanna so that she can build it and with her council, support Jaime. This was Joanna and Tywin's plans to "secure the future of House Lannister."
During the first few years of Jaime Lannister's reign things got better for House Lannister but worse for Joanna's council, Joanna remained her government a group of loyalists, meaning that Jaime didn't need Joanna's government as he##as doing everything himself, single handedly.
In history, Lady Joanna lost 4 of her council members, IIIyrio Mopatis, left because Rhaegar Targaryen and Princess Gemma betrayed each other. Then Princess Gemma Baratheon betrays Lady Joanna by leaving her side, with William Lannister wanting Gemma gone. Then went Lady Leah of Yunkai, a more distant friend then the others, she left because her family needed her and the council had died. Then Jaime's wife,###########ecretly killed by Princess Gemma Baratheon as Gemma wants power in Lannister by manipulating Jaime, causing some sort of conflict between houses Lannister and Baratheon.
The rest of the members, Jaime, Cersei are busy ruling. Tywin ran away. Lynora Hill and Lady Joanna are still together, however Lynora is more of a sister then a handmaiden, then you have Ser Tyrek and Lady Darlessa whom are doing just fine without Joanna.
After Tywin's departure, Lady Joanna writes a letter informing everyone that she is ending Joanna's council and will only list down those who she can trust. Without Tywin, the council would've fell a more brutal way.
The council ended and Jaime continued his rule, while Lady Joanna and Princess Gemma Baratheon are at their miniature war. |
