The rise and fall of Avallak's knights are events that happened so suddenly, and so close to each other that they almost seemed as one. Sellswords from Ludwag, Avallak's knights were one of very few Elven mercenaries available to the public. To their surprise, a bounty was placed on a supposedly small colony of Drow off near the western mountain ranges. The many sellswords set off for battle, expecting little to no resistance, but what they received was anything but. "As the groups of horses split up into the vegetation, mancies crackled and sparked throughout the air. Elves were caught in the flurry of arrows and weapons that were being pelted into their horses and their figures in the sudden counterattack. Avallak himself brought forth his sword, only to be struck by an arrow. Avallak merely plucked the arrow from his armor, before his hand lit up in a brilliant array of lightning. Drow after Drow, he struck them to rubble and ash, before he lifted his sword and delivered fatal blows into the many enemies who dared to defy him. We saw it with our own eyes, in fact he's out there as we speak, softening their lines up for our attack. Gather your weapons, Knights! Tonight brings with it glory, and wealth!" Was the story told by Lothric to the Elven sellswords after Avallak had been struck down and killed with an arrow. The Order of Avallak was only formed the way it was after Avallak's death, which occured in a skirmish against a small Drow tribe deep in the forests of Ludwag. Lothric had returned to the fleeing forces only to tell myths of the mighty Avallak who, according to him, took on fleets of Drow single handedly whilst in reality Avallak had been struck down as soon as entering a clearing in the treeline. With the morale of the sellswords raised, they charged back into a victory. Since then, Avallak has been idolized, and Lothric has been followed almost as if a prophet or a witness to the glory that is Avallak. Sailing across the Kofloran sea from Ludwag in search of new opportunity, many of the Avallakian knights died from the harsh cold. However, they had eventually reached Nerius. Nerius itself was a deadly, deadly venture in which many starved and died of hunger, thirst, and freezing temperatures. This had all changed however when finally, after days of moving, they reached Trepheon.
