Before I start what's a gacha system? It's a popular system in most Free2play mobile games. You pay a certain amount of currency/orbs/items/whatever it is in order to roll for an item you want. When you roll an item, you always get something in return, but what you get is purely based off of RNG. It's based off of those quarter machines you see at the store. This system can be introduced by adding a new currency, studs. Non builders club members get 1 stud a day, Builders club gets 3, Turbo gets 5 and Outrageous gets 10. How do you use studs? Well, every month there is a "Banner" that contains 20 random items (Usually hats or featured clothing). You can use studs to "roll" on this banner. The minimum cost to roll is 5 studs (So Non builders club members can roll once a week unless they save up). When you roll you get one of the random items presented on the banner. Higher quality items are rarer, so you can bet more than 5 studs per roll to increase your odds of getting those rarer items. That's great, how does Roblox make money off of this? Players can buy studs much like they can purchase Robux. Since you can't use the banners with Robux, players will be inclined to buy two currencies instead of one. You can also sell upgrades for Robux. Things like making each stud a percentage more effective at rolling rarer items for a day, or increasing the amount of studs you get for a week. Stuff like that. The strategy here is Roblox makes the free members interested in the catalog since they can actually receive items. This makes them feel more comfortable, and when they see the benefits of Builders club increasing your studs or the robux upgrades, it'll push them even more to buy stuff from Roblox. It's giving a little to receive a lot. And before you say it, you can't bot. The items and orbs you get cannot be traded between accounts. This will also not increase inflation since you can't trade studs for roblox or vice versa. This will reduce it if anything. That's about it.

Freaking. GENIUS. Sounds awesome. Let's get this idea up to the admins eh? Or at least bump it until a mod sees it?

Its gambling, cant do it. Because you could purchase the studs with irl money to play a chance based game its gambling. And roblox is a kids game, they cant do it both morally and legally. Also, generally why? What does this really give to roblox besides throwing free stuff at free users and possibly "push them even more to buy stuff from roblox." It wont work that way, generally speaking, a player who doesnt spend money on a game isnt going to spend money on a game. Its why most games dont actually target those users. Anon 1 isnt going to pay a dime to roblox, never has, never will. Fine. Anon 2 buys BC every few months and sometimes robux, hes a target. When he has BC he has incentives to buy more, he gets lots of free stuff, bonuses, the general features of being BC, hes persuaded more to buy more BC, buy more robux. And because Anon 2 is already ok with spending money on a game, he'll probably make another purchase. This really just looks like "lets have a second currency for free users to get new stuff with". yay, tix but without all the other nice features of tix

Analyzed it a bit, found a flaw. Would you get a minor refund if you got a duplicate item or two? maybe 2 or 3 studs? or none at all?

Okay, so just remove the whole buying studs part. Simple fix, anything else?

@The_Skunk Think of it as a free sample. If you get a little of something and you like it, you might want to buy more of it. That's kind of how this is. And gacha/gambling systems are different. Gambling would imply you could lose out on stuff, but gachas are different and are allowed for all ages. @airstrike That's part of the gacha, you would get no refunds, but Roblox could change it to where you straight up can't get duplicates or have a lower chance of getting them.

Now thinking, maybe you could get a "Refund" of sort by "Destroying" or "Mincing" an item for studs. The more valuable or rare it is, the higher the studs you get back. There's lots of freedom you can do with this idea. You could introduce more mechanics to make things more interesting if you even wanted to, this is just a basic idea from me.

Maybe increase the odds of getting a rare item every 10 spins? Otherwise, excellent idea and I hope this will get added in the future. It can revolutionise Roblox!

@mars What's wrong with the idea? @Midnight You can increase your odds by adding more studs per roll. (Lets say the default 5 studs gave you a 1% chance to roll for a hat, adding 10 would give you a 2% or 5% or something like that, whatever is balanced.).
