I don't feel as if the fandom ruins Gravity Falls, even after a while I've started to outgrow the subreddit, read that horrible story, and after that I still liked the show Ijust don't pay attention to the fandom as much anymore.
Also, I don't feel as if Adventure Time is secretly appealing to kids, it's always been both for kids and adults and the humor has improved since the random, whacky, and immature season 1, season 7 is bringing me back the the wackiness of the previous seasons after the dark and controversial 5 and with philosophy and art mixed in for 6.

Lots of people like Star, but I don't get it it does indeed like generically OK and Rick & Morty does seem interesting, but it has typical edgy adult humor which is off-putting.

LMAO, actually watch the show first
the show has well-written characters, dialogue and humor. They do an amazing job at striking an emotion into the audience, it's probably one of the best adult swim shows (and as a huge fan of adult swim, i can tell you that it's had its fair run of amazing shows such as Aqua Teen and Venture Bros.)
