They hired Gretzky (the all-time GOAT player) as their head coach and he became one of the worst head coaches of the NHL's modern era. They then got so desperate to find a GM that they hired a 27-year-old stat nerd who's more fitting for the role of "guy who uses microsoft excel to make all kinds of formula sheets and uses calculations from that to beat everyone on fanduel and draftkings"
