I'm trying very hard to make my renderer produce renders/screenshots/frames/whatever that are visually identical to what Kojima's FOX Engine can do, or at least, could be expected to do with the models I've got.
I've got a __long__ way to go, trying to mimic the shading and the color correction and the color space adjustment and lens flares, hell, I don't have anything besides the most rudimentary shaders working so far.
But I'd like to get things like fur and hair and especially, especially lighting _absolutely perfect_. Bonus points for not having to need to use specular maps at all.
Fur is really really important on this game I'm working on (just concepts, ideas, couple early placeholder 3d models, etc, nothing in-engine yet.), trying to get it realistic and perfect and stay away from cartoony animal characters as much as possible.
