The son of two pre-flash El Salvadorian immigrants, Al(z)ej(z)an(z)dro R(z)uiz Ac(z)osta was born in 2036 in an underground in Florida- 4 years after the war ended and the world was thrust into nuclear annihilation. Having spent the majority of his life on the run, and forcibly separated from his parents, Ru(z)iz suffered much psychological trauma and struggled to comprehend the evil that was present in the country he was situated in, but following his sight of a execution of two young women for theft out of hunger and desperation by a rouge and corrupt group of low-ranking USCPF soldiers was enough to push R(z)uiz into deep anti-USCPF (and allies) sentiment. His previous knowledge of old US government war crimes abroad also contributed in part to his development of these extremely radical beliefs and hatred for the USCPF whom wanted to preserve the old system, one of imperialist and exploitative oppression.
Following his development of these anti-USCPF ideals, in 2057 R(z)uiz came across an abandoned library near the coast of the Floridian town he was situated in after a run in with feral bandits. Developing a semi-permanent camp alongside a group of about 6 other survivors who had tagged along throughout the wasteland in the building as it was relatively well protected and isolated from other survivors. There he developed far-left ideals after reading books by pre-flash Cold War revolutionaries and philosophers. R(z)uiz joy for reading quickly developed into a deep attraction to extreme left ideologies and a burning passion for the liberation of the wasteland that at this point in time was quite unstable.
After reading a biography of Nicaraguan revolutionary and leader of the Nicaraguan Sandanista movement in the 1980s Car(z)los Fon(z)seca- Ru(z)iz developed a strong affection for the gentleman- seeing him as everything a man should live up to. After spreading his radical ideas with his other survivors, he quickly managed to recruit them all as they too had been in the same library and seen the same incident with the USCPF rouges and the two women. After about a year in the library, in 2058 the Ejército Fonsecista de Liberación Nacional was established (The Fonsecist Army of National Liberation), named after the aforementioned Car(z)los Fon(z)seca The army- comprised of the Spanish speaking civilians who Ru(z)iz was with established plans to move further near to Rockport where they knew that USCPF outposts were common, as well as other civilians whom they believed they'd be able to recruit.
The group arrived in Rockport in 2059, 8 months after the Ejército Fonsecista de Liberación Nacional was established and quickly began a mass recruitment campaign throughout the region, able to recruit an additional two dozen civilians for their cause and putting their numbers at 24 soldiers. The organisation began to rally itself up as a guerrilla organisation and quickly began the manufacturing of homemade weapons with instructional booklets they'd picked up from the library they were camped out at, predominantly home-made explosives. After about 2 years of planning, in 2061 the organisation attacked a small ACMF outpost and was able to kill the ageing soldiers with minimal ease, their 26 soldiers easily outnumbering the 4 who were camped out there.
The group began to pick up weapons and was now armed with more than just a few nail-bombs and pistols. They attacked a NATO outpost within a few months with the same weapons they'd taken from the ACMF and despite suffering several casualties were now armed with NATO issued rifles as well as those of the ACMF- in possession of several standard issue ACMF and NATO rifles and LMGs as well as several dozen assorted pistols and civilian grade rifles they'd picked up from weapons stashes or purchased using money stolen from markets near the area. The group was now armed, organised and prepared.
The organisations main source of income was either the forced extortion of assorted vendors throughout Rockport or violent theft of seemingly well equipped civilians. This behavior quickly made them hated and target by the CDF who by 2063 were responsible for the arrest of 4 low level Fonsecistas who were later broken out of their make-shift jail-cells in a CDF camp at Rockport. The Fonsecistas deemed it to be illogical to develop opposition with both the USCPF and the CDF as it would be counter-productive to develop enemies on both sides of the political spectrum of the wasteland and peace-talks occurred with the CDF during the year 2064 that meant the groups would become indifferent to one another existence so long as neither group aggravated the other- the Fonsecistas however continued this extortion behind the CDFs back whenever possible.
The Fonsecistas decided that in 2065, it was time to establish guerrilla attacks on USCPF outposts and soldiers in attempts to derail the abilities and influence of the USCPF. The majority of these attacks were guerrilla style tactics, including the attachment of home-made explosives on dogs that would be sent towards USCPF vehicles as well as individual assassination attempts made on high ranking USPCF generals, often suicide missions. Firefights often occurred between the groups but outcomes varied, often resulting in deaths on both sides. The Fonsecistas continued their recruitment programs throughout the wasteland to combat loss of members from death or capture in the battlefield.
The Fonsecistas continued to have a presence, even up to the 2100s long after the death of Ru(z)iz and the establishment of the group in new hands. The group stood at about ## strong at this point- until cease-fires were organised between both groups and the Fonsecistas dissolved in 2105 which was 2 years after the events of ATF5. Despite this many of the Fonsecistas continued to possess anti-USCPF sentiment and some decided to join the CDF with whom relations were relatively neutral as a way of continuing their assistance to civilians in the new world.
