That's like saying "Big small". They are opposite ideas. Sword and the future don't match. Gun Pride, World Wide. Gun Power!

Meh. Nosteri does melee fighting, but it's with machetes, Baratusa, or Zabarai. (Baratusa - Plural for "Baratus", which is "Warsword". Of course, it's a heavy parallelogram-bladed shortsword.) (Zabarai - Plural for "Zabara", which is "Scythesword". Of course, it's also kinda heavy but curved forwards for more axe-like movement.) Of course, a Baratus or Zabara can be used very effectively against modern armors due to the sheer weight and force they are swung.

royal blood, is casual lightsabers are too expensive to make, would much rather prefer improvised war club made out of a rather heavy block of wood

How many SF groups actually use lightsabers? Also, what's the point? If we can control plasma into a stick, then we can do even better things with guns.

What if in the future there are technology that prevents bullets from hitting you, and people resort to swords to actually kill? What if in the future fighting with guns is seen cowardly, so they fight with swords? What if in the future guns have been outlawed, but swords are not, so governments supply their soldiers with swords? There are so many ways clans can be futuristic and with swords.

Nosteri follows this principle for melee: Normal conventional plasma weapons, contrary to the primarily-ballistic weapons of Nosteri, can be easily stopped by a EM field supplied by now-common armors. Of course, as armor seems useless to wear against enemy plasma weapons and ballistic weapons that have a tendency to punch through armor, Nosterian soldiers are outfitted with rather lightweight clothing and backpacks with tools and ammunition. So while you are resistant to a laser (which is banned outright in Nosteri due to laser scatterguns [used by the former communist regime of Nosteri] could burn shadows into concrete), or plasma, you are not resistant to a strong yet extremely dangerous rotting rusty-nailed club with duct-tape for the handle.

"What if in the future there are technology that prevents bullets from hitting you, and people resort to swords to actually kill?" Don't know, that's probably not the case though. If you could make a sword that can negate armor or whatever, your nation would try all it's might to create guns to do the same thing. Guns are more effective than swords at killing people. "What if in the future fighting with guns is seen cowardly, so they fight with swords?" Good point, but when you really want to win, honor and people's morals tend to fly out the window. Plus, not all groups of people have the same culture or ideas. Those who think using a gun is not cowardly wouldn't just use swords because it's seen as cowardly in the nation they are invading. "What if in the future guns have been outlawed, but swords are not, so governments supply their soldiers with swords?" Why would they outlaw guns? And even if guns were outlawed, why wouldn't they equip their military with guns? Also, again, other groups may not have the same laws. Put the best sword fighting group against VAK, or even FEAR, armed with the weapon of their clan and see who wins. Most likely, it'll be the team with the gun.

Armor still doesn't work against a blunderbuss or a really heavy club. I mean, sure, it stops the thing from piercing or whatever, but it'll still break bones and cause internal bleeding as well as some external bleeding.

"Don't know, that's probably not the case though. If you could make a sword that can negate armor or whatever, your nation would try all it's might to create guns to do the same thing. Guns are more effective than swords at killing people." Technology progress is not always continual. Sometimes technology becomes so stagnant that the nation does not try to create guns to do the same. The clans that are futuristic are at that time period. "Good point, but when you really want to win, honor and people's morals tend to fly out the window. Plus, not all groups of people have the same culture or ideas. Those who think using a gun is not cowardly wouldn't just use swords because it's seen as cowardly in the nation they are invading." We're assuming the people in the clan are human to begin with, and have experience the same events as Earth has, which is incorrect. Different events and history can changed many species or people's thoughts on war. "Why would they outlaw guns? And even if guns were outlawed, why wouldn't they equip their military with guns? Also, again, other groups may not have the same laws." Guns could have progressed to a point where they are so inhumane that they are outlawed, ######### weapons for example), and again, species or people's history could have affected their outlook on said weaponry.
