Well, many people have made such various, accusations that the National Basketball Association is rigged for ratings and revenue. Famous, and probably the most notable accusation of this claim is such one made by Mrs. Curry, or Ayesha Curry[Stephen Curry's Wife##########er the Warriors lost a game in the 2016 playoffs, had to complain about how the NBA is just rigged for money.
With cities such as Boston and LA making it to the Finals, with hyped up bandwagons, intense battles building up suspense for the next series, that builds people's motive to buy On-Demand to stream this various games live, thus yielding revenue. Obviously, the Lakers aren't the team to represent LA in the playoffs, this year, or maybe for the next couple of years for that matter, so the Clippers are the next big market team on the list. Now, Boston, a big market city, can yield in substantial amounts of revenue from the NBA fans and bandwagon fans, thus making the hype bigger and generating more fans to bigger cities.
