Most people have probably seen the (hopefully) new ROBLOX lighting, but just in case you haven't:

Seriously Arseny (I think that's his first name) needs a payraise. |

There's more stuff like that in the blog. |

@pullman
I know, I read the blog all the time. But some people don't, so I just wanted to share this. |

Noooiice. I think I saw this back during Hack Week, but I'm not sure. |
|
|
@MrPhelps
It was shown in one of the hack weeks, but was actually on YouTube before that hack week project was on the ROBLOX Blog.
Btw, there's a huge chance that this'll be implemented, because the guy who made it also made the smooth terrain. |

"when a opportunity of updating the graphics of roblox gets to the admins, they never do it"
That fact that dynamic lighting exists at all is evidence that this statement is objectively incorrect. |
|
|
@Awesomesauce196
They did dynamic lighting. I remember when that was a thing. Such an amazing update.
This is basically that but 2.0, and from what Arseny and some other people have said it probably wouldn't be too high end or intensive on computers.
I think ROBLOX could implement this, and they most likely will considering all of the positive feedback it has gotten since it was uploaded to YouTube. (Not even hackweek, it was on YouTube before, and still got views.) Arseny is also the man that got smooth terrain implemented. (Another really good update to ROBLOX.)
Arseny explained that it could take time to get this lighting implemented, but he reminds us that Smooth Terrain was from a 2013 hack week. Anything is possible. |

@MrPhelps
My thoughts exactly.
Do you remember playing the sweet demo they had and taking like fifty screenshots? Because I do.
ROBLOX in a whole felt so much more colorful, and now it's in every single game. |

"Do you remember playing the sweet demo they had and taking like fifty screenshots? Because I do."
Sadly no. My old computer was pretty bad, and dynamic lighting never appeared properly for me. |

The idea of the game looking more realistic really intrigues me, I really like it. |

@BayMcCool I'm just imagining what I could do with # SciFi showcase with this. I mean, did you see that sweet new neon feature where it adjusts based on the lighting? Not to mention the new shadows. I think for builders like myself this would be one of the best updates in ROBLOX history. |

"im pretty sure dynamic lighting wasnt like this though. and stop trying to sound all fancy and saying that my post is "incorrect" because you are replying on a kids forum"
Dynamic lighting was a graphics update. No, I won't stop trying to sound "fancy." "Incorrect" is an extremely common word, and literally everyone on this "kids forum" knows it. How is that fancy in any way? |
|
|
@BayMcCool
And honestly the lighting looks like it's straight out of Unreal 4 if you ask me.
Which is insanely impressive for a game about blocky characters. |
|
|
|
@Awesomesauce196
I think you're right, Dynamic Lighting probably wasn't, but it was still a graphical update.
And this hack week project is still being made by Arseny, the guy who made and shipped Smooth Terrain, which also started as a hack week project might I add. |

'im pretty sure that dynamic lighting wasnt a hack week project. and yes you are trying to sound fancy by saying my post is "objective ly incorrect"'
Your original statement didn't say anything about hack week. It only addresses graphics updates. Also "objectively" isn't an uncommon word either. It isn't fancy by any means.
