I try to learn scripting using the Roblox wiki, but it is confusing! Can anybody help me learn how to script?

Maybe your learning things in a bad order. Try learning about onTouch functions first and move on from there.

^ Also, learn math functions. They are probably the easiest to start with, you will also need to learn CFrame, Quaternions, etc.

Your not alone it's kinda hard for me too, I mean I k own it but it's to actually scripting and linking it to things to make things work etc, Im more so a builder so, but building maps for a fps ww2 game (based off of medal of honor allied assault-breakthrough) so I really need to learn and get scripting down pat because I'm going to need it come time to put it together for play.

Having a solid base of c++ helped me a lot , I learned lua in no time literally. Anyway I found the videos on youtube a lot useful. Think as scripting as a Math problem , and if you don't know how to go to the next step, look at the wiki.

think of what you want to create and then think about how you can apply the different things you know to what you're trying to create

Do you enjoy it? That's the biggest question people forget I think. I used to always want to learn Lua but I never really could because I didn't enjoy it. Something then clicked, I then wanted to learn lua again and I'm progressing really fast - because I love it. Learning programming is really hard if you don't enjoy it, in which you need a real perseverance and drive to dedicate yourself. But if that's the case, why are you doing it in the first place? r+://718058112r+://718058837

To learn it you need a lot of dedication, you can't just learn it to learn it. Well some maybe, but if you want to really learn and become great you have to want to do it. ewe

Some people just can't. Nothing to be ashamed of. But you're likely taking the wrong approach. A lot of people compare learning programming to learning another language. For my part, I guess troubleshootting my own scripts would make me rip my own hair off.

I recommend Peas - Factory on YouTube. His vids are a little old, but they teach you the basics really well. Here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXX6hhg4CysYf0M-_GtCEOgGlkBfrXsoJ
