i like horror games because they're basically spooky puzzle games |

Bloodborne and Deadly Premonition are good though. I can't vouch for the others I still want to play though

For fun. Some like Resident Evil and Outlast are AMAZING. They are actually slightly scary, and quite fun to play at night. |

"Bloodborne"
While it spooked me a couple times, I wouldn't call it a horror game. |

Maybe not, horror is subjective after all. I don't get scared from horror games but they're still "horror" games, right? I guess Bloodborne is more gothic horror. And that's still a form of "horror" is it not?

@generic
There is a difference, scaring you is not the point of Bloodborne. It's an action game that takes place in a darker setting. I've jumped with games like Halo and Fallout as well, that doesn't make them horror games. |

that's not how genres work. if i jump from a loud sound effect in viva pinata or something, that doesn't make the game a horror game. bloodborne obviously isn't made with the main intention being to be scary, the core gameplay has nothing to do with that, and the game really isn't scary aside from some creepy looking things. calling bloodborne a horror is like calling L4D a horror, just because there are aspects that could be considering "scary" doesn't mean it is a horror game... |

That's not the point I was trying to make. I'm trying to say there is more to the horror genre than just jumpscares and stuff like that. I was saying Bloodborne is basically gothic horror, which is still a form of horror. Dracula, Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Those are all still horror but their point isn't to scare you.

depends whether they're actually scary rather than relying on jumpscares |

it's probably for the adrenaline rush of being scared
i really really hate anything horror but i did enjoy alien isolation for that reason, the feeling of being hunted and trying to hide from the xenomorph was really exciting |

i got really bad trypophobia, so it doesn't take too much to scare me if you know my fear
i mean really bad
one thing i will absolutely never be is a doctor just because of that fear |
