Technically, semi-colons aren't necessary in this. It's not "bad grammar", it's structure.
Using direct sentences just emphasizes the author's point, and helps for the reader to understand the author's tone. It's simply a different style in the paragraph. |

Sure, but do you want choppy sentences? You can literally sum this up in 2-3 word sentences, but Vaktus tried to be eloquent. (and failed miserably) |

The last two are perfect as they are though:No negociaba. No excuses.
"The battlefield is Varcia", could have been inserted into a compound sentence, though. |
