Hello ROBLOX,
Recently, my 8 year old son discovered and began posting on the ROBLOX forums. I noticed he was feeling down one day, and after going through his search history, discovered that he was being harassed by many people. Furthermore, I later discovered that after this harassment began, someone on the forums told him to run a script in his browser and just minutes later his account was terminated. The appeals team didn't even remove the ban, and my son's account is gone forever. Until the forums are removed, I simply need to do my duty as a parent by taking my son off of ROBLOX, as well as other online games and I am encouraging other moms to do the same. |

I do not think the forums should be deleted. It is pretty useful. The problem is you need to teach your son to avoid being tricked on Roblox, not that all parents should take their children off Roblox. However, Roblox is also wrong, as they never read their appeals.

No the forums aren't the problem. The problem is you're using ROBLOX as your personal babysitter and not paying enough attention to what they're doing on the internet.

The problem here is ROBLOX.com moderators not effectively moderating the forums. They banned my son's account but not the people who were harassing him! |

I understand the forums can be a little ish, but please reconsider on your idea. The forums helps players in 'lets make a deal.' I understand, but think about the other played who benefit.

I have seen younger kids more intelligent. It is a good time to teach him about scamming and cyberbullying.

Skar you should go over with your child of cyberbullying again. The child might not understand the full concept of the dangers it can cause.

I think I will. And I also think I will need to monitor his web history much more often, and make sure all online interactions are cut off. |
