Now the time has come for ROBLOX to implement CAPTCHA** to keep the bots at bay. So far, I have seen many spam/scam attempts made by nothing but computers with a mission in mind - Data Thievery.
For now, I'll give you some advice on "bot-spotting"
You'll know it's a bot if it has the following:
-Newly made account
-Default 2016/2017 Avatar
-Never seen in-game
-Unusual username (ClickMe309e307 / DontClickMe3317e312)
-Will try to send you PM (Such as Free ROBUX, BC or Malicious Links)*
-Has a Malicious Link inside it's Bio*
*This is mostly not the case as some bots have different roles/missions.
How to deal with Bots: (Choose ONE that seems effective to your situation)
-Report for: Account Theft
-Report for: Exploiting / Scamming
-Report for: Asking for / Giving Private Information
-Paste Image link of it's attempt in the Report Comment (Recommended with Gyazo, which is a secure screen capture software. I used it many times and no problem with it.)
**CAPTCHA is a computer program or system intended to distinguish human from machine input, typically as a way of thwarting spam and automated extraction of data from websites.
***Never EVER attempt to interact with a malicious link from a bot. It can lead to consequences such as having your data stolen.***
