Basic Deputy Training Information and Guidelines This document/forum is made to explain the process of a BDT, and what it is. For those who didn’t know, “BDT” stands for ‘Basic Deputy Training’. This is the training that ALL Probationary Deputy’s MUST take before they become an actual Deputy. The training is very important in your career with us, and that is why we need you to pass this training. This training lasts 3-4 hours no matter if you are difficult or not. This is because as an Instructor, they MUST make sure you understand the material. The training goes over the following: Basic Terms (STS, SFL, Marching Procedure, PC, RS, Grammar, and Faces), Shooting Range, Color Game, Tower’s, Traffic Stops, Frisking and Searching, Two combative courses (Sword and Firearm), and two obstacle courses. After this training, if you pass, which it’s almost impossible to fail, unless you tried… You will receive your Sergeant, and your Callsign for patrols. Your Sergeant is like the person you rely on. You will send them Patrol Logs and Discharge Reports, which will be explained at your BDT further. After you pass, you may finally patrol, and submit your logs and all that good stuff. If you have any questions, ask a fellow High Commanding Officer, or the Sheriff himself. Thanks for tuning in!
