ROBLOX announced this quite a while back, but they haven't said anything about cancelling the project. I believe it'd take a lot of effort to upload a mesh to ROBLOX, considering you'd have to have some sort of 3d modelling software and some sort of template that would allow you to upload it to ROBLOX. TL;DR, ROBLOX is probably making some easy alternative to mesh uploading.

Its not that hard. You only have to downlode c4 or some other 3d moddeling proggram. then your done! a tamplate shouldnt be needed. they should add a character where you place the hat and it copys from that.

And watch all the limited hats be thrown into a fire? Wow what a great idea! You obviously haven't been on roblox long enough to understand much of it, but limiteds would completely die, and many people's work of trading would be crushed. Before you post on suggestions, explore roblox more. This idea would completely mess everything up.
