Long story short, I'm a single mother raising my daughter after my ###### left us. She just left last month so I haven't really had much time to get used to dealing with issues a dad should handle, and sometimes I feel like whatever I'm doing isn't enough. She just turned 13 so I have to start to talk to her about different kinds of fidget toys and such. Anyway yesterday when she got back from school she was dead tired and went right to sleep. About an hour later I figured it would be a good time to run to the store down the block and get some sandwiches while she was still asleep because she hates being home alone. So I went to the store and got a couple subs and came home, couldn't have taken more than 15-20 minutes. I went upstairs and knocked on the door and told her that I got subs and to wake up, no answer. I could hear what sounded like crying coming from her room and my parental instinct just kicked in and I ran in to see if she was okay. Apparently she thought I would leave if she didn't answer me, because she was laying in bed with her fidget spinner toward me not giving a flying crab. I didn't know what was happening, I think I was in shock, and as soon as I walked in she yelled at me to leave but I was frozen there. The strange thing is as she was yelling she was still spinning the fidget spinner and she got up and tried to run to her closet and she never stopped spinning it. |
