ROBLOX has been using individual parts to create and animate character models since the beginning. I think it's about time that developers gain the ability to bend meshes. With this addition, developers could upload detailed character meshes and easily animate them simply be bending the mesh. This would be much more effective than splitting a character mesh up into each individual part, then welding it to the default ROBLOX character model to create joints. While that works, it should be obvious as to why bending meshes is far superior.
As for those who think that paragraph is too large, the title should give you enough information.
What do you think about this?
Thanks for reading.

The Mesh parts are modeled together, There would be no way Roblox could script that. |

What do you mean by 'modeled together'? All ROBLOX would have to do is allow you to change the polygons on the mesh to create a bend.

Or even better, ROBLOX could just create a tool that does that (similar to the animation plugin).

Why would you want to bend a mesh? |

jwun, good question. If you've ever played a video game off of ROBLOX, you'd see that those character models aren't separate parts at all. But instead, those models are just one mesh that often uses a skeletal rig. For example, LEGO games use this. But I'm not just suggesting this for the default ROBLOX character models. I'm suggesting this for developers who want to upload a detailed character mesh to ROBLOX and animate it without splitting each part of it and attaching them to the default character. This would also allow for things such as blades of grass to bend smoothly without a ton of blocky joints.
Does this answer your question?

If you know so much about ROBLOX develop, how come you can't know what "modeled together" mean? I mean modeled together like one part can't be bend, all of the parts of the mesh will. |

There's only one part per mesh. Am I not making it clear on what I mean by bending? All modern game engines allow you to 'bend' meshes to animate character models and such. They aren't made of 15 different parts, they're made of one single mesh.
