Not in age, like record date. I'm thinking one of the oldest I listen to right now is Blind Willie Mctell. He recorded his first record in 1927 but he played the blues since the early 1920s. Wondering how far back you kids reach nowadays.

I am somewhat familiar with them, one of the DJ's of a local radio station loves them and his co-hosts always make fun of him for loving them so much hahaha.

Oldest with vocal music is the Everly Brothers from the 50's. Oldest ever is Pachelbel, born in 1653 If I were as rich as you, I could afford some grammar.

I have this album called Anthology of American Folk Music and the oldest ones are, the dates are the dates of their records and I can't find any date for the Stoneman song the booklet may say something or just the year: 1. "Uncle Bunt" Stephens - March 29, 1926 2. Uncle Dave Macon - April 14, 1926 3. Čḣаrⅼіе Ṗоοⅼе with The North Carolina Ramblers - September 20, 1926 ?. Ꭼrոеѕt Ѕtоոеⅿаո and Наttіе Ѕtоոеⅿаո - 1926 Put down your chainsaw and listen to me, mashed potatoes can be your friends

"Oldest ever is Pachelbel, born in 1653" It's not the year of when it the composition or song was made, it's the year of the recording. Put down your chainsaw and listen to me, mashed potatoes can be your friends

The title says oldest artist. Pachelbel is the oldest person whose music I've listened to. If I were as rich as you, I could afford some grammar.

Yes I know what the body says, but the title is ambiguous. So I'm going by that. I did list the other one anyway though. If I were as rich as you, I could afford some grammar.

Tim, it's easier and takes up less room to ask the oldest artist you listen to and then specify in the body that it's the recording that matters. Put down your chainsaw and listen to me, mashed potatoes can be your friends
