someone, maybe me, would make a clan.
the clan would have 4 places that anyone who wants to start a war would need to attack in a specific order, once you win a battle you may advance onto the next place. it simulates a full invasion of a planet starting from the outside, if you lose a battle your progress is stopped and you must return to the place prior to that.
place 1: deep space dog fight.
setting: would be an outdoor setting of a fleet of capital ships from my team, off in the distance, my home planet and a space station
objective: each team would spawn in space and have the choice between choosing between small fighters, gunships, or a larger cruiser. spectators can choose a diplomatic shuttle, but all ships would be fair, essentially the only difference being aesthetics. there would be boundaries so you cant fly off and you already spawn in your ship so you can't hide. the first team to 100 KOs wins but the KO is reset every 10-15 minutes or so.
place ## ####### ##### ########
setting: would be an interior of a massive space station that creates a shield around the planet, this is the only way in and out, so attackers must take and destroy this station. it would largely be an interior dog fight.
objective: each team spawns an equal distance away from a power room of some sort where defenders must defend it and the attackers must attempt to set a charge and blow it in order to take out the space station. the chargers take 15-20 minutes to detonate so after doing so they would need to defend them. there is a third major room, a control room, which is a secondary objective. whoever has control of this room can obstruct the other team's path by locking doors or setting other traps, and gets access to surveillance around the station.
place ## ########## ####### outpost.
setting: a military base/outpost that is highly weaponized which attackers must take before mounting a full scale assault on the capitol, the attackers have set up a base camp a few miles away with their landing craft.
objective: its capture the flag c: -- the defenders try to go to the landing craft and capture their flag, the attackers go to the outpost to capture their's, it's a fair layout and whoever gets the most captures in half an hour wins!
place 4: capitol city
setting: a futuristic city, after enough attackers gather a fleet of space ships appear in-atmosphere above the city to simulate a battle going on.
objective: there are # ####### ###### in the city. the capitol building where the government functions, the police headquarters/city hall which acts as a secondary objective, and lastly, a military base. people spawn randomly throughout the map. you need at least # ## ##### ###### to gain a majority and have your team ticker towards victory of ### ####### if you own less than # #### ##### ###### drop. having all 3 increases the speed at which you gain points.

this was the idea behind foa's civil war event but we never got far with it since actual war came about

some ### Star Wars group did something like this, it was a little convoluted but it ended up being fun basically you started off over geonosis with the defenders "blockading" the planet and you had to get an LAAT (it was slow and had to be protected by fighters but was almost destroyed instantly every time, it respawned though) to the planet and it would place everyone to the actual fort which was a normal terminal in the middle of the map that both teams fought over |

great idea but you arent accounting for the variable of money and time
most devs wont do this unless theyre being paid a large sum of money or theyre actually genuinely interested which is an extremely rare occurrence |

Honestly, it's a great idea and all but the time and effort needed for a project of this extent makes it difficult to execute. This also draws the ? of which fort will be your primary peacetime one.
Also I believe that there should be three transitions
Frontier
City
Capitol
Each one should be at least 10 raids to therefore transition onto the next map/a win. |

you raid a bunch of outposts, which are like mini forts.
then after you beat all X outposts you move on to the base, etc
