Book I- Edward And The Mirror Of Dimensions
Chapter 1- A Piece of Glass
Hello there, I am a survivor of the dark times of the mid to late twenty-first century. My name, I'm afraid to tell. What I am here to write about today is a boy from the early days. His name was Edward. Edward was fifteen. He had a power he kept secret. He could tell the future. He had a piece of glass that he carried around with him. You see, this was no ordinary piece of glass. It came from another world, but that, Edward did not know. He had just found the glass in his attic. Every time he put the piece of glass to his eye he had bits of information from the future appear in his head. So, I guess it was not really a power, since the glass was doing all the "magic" shall I say. Edward never let his Mirror of Time, as he called it, get out of sight. It was his prized possession.
Edward had no clue what to do about this Mirror of Time so he only used it when he had nothing else to do. Not because it was uninteresting, or boring but rather because it was scary to him.
One foggy autumn day, Edward was sitting up in bed looking through a magazine, when suddenly he heard a noise coming from the closet door. He stepped closer to the door and his sight grew dim, somehow he stood to his feet and opened the door.
When Edward opened the door he saw something that can never be explained using words from the English language. I'll try my best though to explain it. It was a cyclone of space, time, and dimensions no one has ever ventured off into. The "Mirror Of Time" was in the center of the dimensional storm.
The cyclone drew Edward nearer and nearer. His eyes turned into spirals of light and dark. Edward was in a trance. Then... He fell to the ground... Slipping away... Falling asleep. His spiraling eyes closed as he drifted of into the vast realms of an alternate dimension.
"...Hello! Edward... Danté The Overthrown is what people call me. For I was sent to this dimension because I lost a duel!" said the voice coming from a blurry figure in a white room. "Where am I?" said Edward. "The unexplored realms of the defeated ones." replied Danté. "What? Something to do with my little piece of glass?" said Edward. "Glass you say?" Danté replied. "I shall tell you, wanderer, of the journey of I, the defeated!" and Danté began his story:
"It was a long time ago... One dark night. I had become depressed so I went out to the sinful city and became intoxicated by the richest of wines. So I became so intoxicated that I made a bet that I could defeat a powerful warrior in a duel of sword fighting. I said I'd allow him to do anything to me if he won. If I won I'd get three months of his earnings. He won, and sent me to a wizard. The wizard sent Me here to "teach me a lesson". Ugh... So many things I'd do again! Can you help me? You do have that piece of glass. That is for wizards only, you know! It's Very rare. You know how to use it?" Said Danté. "It shows me how to use it... I don't know how... But it does! ...I shall send you back to your time!" yelled Edward. Suddenly Danté lit up and rose high in the sky. He thanked Edward, then disappeared.
Slowly Edward drifted off once more, into another dimension...
A voice called to him, "...You are the one, don't forget! You are destined to save the people of the mountain of burning skulls!" Said a voice, in the dark. "What?" asked Edward in a shaky voice. "I AM THE DARK WIZARD! Good luck on fulfilling your destiny! BYE!" Said the voice in the dark. Edward all of the sudden was in his room again, on the floor.
Chapter 2- Polythanas
Edward had come to the conclusion that he was given this peice of glass for a reason... To save the ones Being hunted by the darkness. It may have been a hard thing to do... But Edward had a lot of heart. He had the want to do this. He was going to give it a shot.
"When there's a will there's a way" is an incomplete saying. It should be, "When there's a will and good motives there's a way," because You can't do some things on your own. So you become overconfident trying to achieve the almost impossible. Always ask yourself a second time before making a huge decision, why you are making it.
Edward, in fear, clenched the piece of glass in his hands, closed his eyes, and said in a shaking voice, "Show me how I use you!" then... something happened. Edward was transported to an alternate dimension filled with darkness and gloom. Ahead of him was a road of dirt, so black, so long. It curved back and forth for miles. On both sides of the road there were buildings so black, with crooked walls and windows so dark. Edward walked on down the road and came to a dead end hours later. At the end there was a tree so black and gnarled... Filled with crows. The tree looked so gloomy and evil, it sent shivers down Edward's spine. To the right of the tree there was a house of brick and wood. A mansion of the colors black and brown. Such dull colors for a mansion so big. In the center of the mansion there was a tower that had a crack down the front and the roof was warped.
From the fog around the tree arose a figure of almost monstrous proportions. He had a face of a silver skull with two big horns sticking out of the sides of his head. There were also small silver thorns coming from all over his face. He wore a cape as black as the sky abouve that night. His hands were nothing but bones that were blackened and decayed. This monster's eyes were so black and endless, that they almost hypnotized
The figure said in a deep, airy voice, "I am The King of The Boneyard! Chose your path!". Then two doorways appeared on both sides of The King Of The Boneyard. The door on the left read, "Polythanas, the path of many dead souls". The door on the right read, "Paleo, the city of the times of old". It was a hard choice to make. Edward stepped forward and opened the door on the left... The entrance to Polythanas.
Edward was suddenly on top of a mountain of bones. There was a tower of stone just ahead. On the top of the tower there was the face that looked like a combination of a snake and a wolf. It was made of solid gold. Right under the face of gold there was an inscription that read, "Polythanas".
Fire spewed out of the sides of the roads of Polythanas. There were skeletons everywhere. It was a boneyard. The only living people were hanging by a thread and so pale with black hair so thick. Their eyes were filled with pain. The rulers of Polythanas were not human, they were monsters who sacrificed humans for the king of all the monsters... Theandrarch. All of the rulers of Polythanas were about eight feet tall and yellow eyed. They had clothes of metal armor that was so grimey and rusty. Their faces resembled that of a human mixed with a bear. Theandrarch on the other hand, was more like ten feet tall, with grey eyes, and a black cape that was all shredded up. His face was the face that was on the tower... The face of a snake and a wolf combined. Theandrarch prefered to be called The Dark One by his people. He had gained that name in a duel in his earlier years.
Edward had been thrown into a world so dark, with no weapon. So Edward searched the piles of bones until he found some armor his size (or as close as he could get) and a war hammer. This war hammer had the word, "Myrithanas" engraved on the side.
The new, armored and ready to fight Edward walked down the black road for a few minutes, when he was stopped by three Polythanians. One stood about seven feet tall, (sort of short for a Polythanian) holding a mace. The other one was a normal height for a Polythanian, at about eight feet tall. He held a war hammer in each hand... Ready to kill.
"Oh look what we have here... A human... Who can actually walk properly? Impossible! Well, that's about to change!" said the shorter Polythanian. The taller one just roared a deep roar, so frighting that Edward dropped his war hammer. Edward did Not know what to do, so he pulled the peice of glass out of his pocket and waved it in front of him. "Oh foolish Polythanians, I send you to the abyss!" screamed Edward.
Then... Something amazing happened. The monstrous warriors disappeared... Into the abyss... Forever. Never to be seen again. This, Edward thought to himself, was his destiny. Edward was destined to conquer the evil forces of Polythanas.
Chapter 3- Destiny
"Rise from your graves fallen people of the Boneyard of Polythanas... NOW is your time!" said The Dark One, Theandrarch. The mountain of burning skulls, the boneyard, all of the sudden came to life. The skeleton's rose from the piles of the dead. "We will kill the boy, MASTER!" said one of the skeletons.
As they marched on down the road they sang a song.
Edward looked back to see what was behind him. He saw an army of skeletons charging at him at an creature-like speed. They were holding weapons of all sorts. Maces, pitch forks, swords, war hammers, chains, clubs, and torches. The army reached him within minutes. They slashed, bashed, and jumped at him. Edward swung his war hammer back and forth, smashing the skeletons... But he could not win because the skeletons would just come back together and reform. This was impossible. Edward, finally pulled out the Mirror of Time and waved it at the army. He said, "Let your bones crumble to the ground forming ashes, like your leader shall soon!" Then he dissolved their Bones. Leaving ashes on the path.
What was this piece of glass that Edward held? The path to destruction or the door opportunities? It was hard to tell. Edward knew he had a lot of power... Maybe too much.
Edward walked on down the road for days, until he came to a house. It was so little and dull. He stepped on the front porch and fell through the floor. He fell for a long time until he finally hit the ground... But did not die somehow. Edward found himself in a place filled with people wearing clothes that cover their entire body. They all wore unique masks... Some sort of identity. They were gathered around a person... Hanging from a noose. This was a criminal being hanged... A ceremony. Edward stepped into the crowd and screamed, "What did he do?" There was a silence. "well... He didn't listen to the elders... He ventured off into the forbidden land! He became like everyone else. He became possessed by evil! He tried to kill us all!" said a man wearing a sharp edged mask. "Where is the forbidden land?" asked Edward. The man pointed up and said, "Everywhere above ground. Oh and that reminds me... Where are you from? You're perfectly healthy yet your not one of us?" "I am Edward, the savior of the Polythanian human survivors! I am here to save you... With THIS!" said Edward as he waved the Mirror of Time in front of the man. The man backed away and began to weep. "YOU are the one... The holder of a piece of the shattered mirror of dimensions! YOU possess SO MUCH POWER! Your destined to save us! The prophesies say so!" he said. "what? HUH?" said Edward. "You have been sent from the real world to save us who have been thrown into this graveyard of a place! YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN! The name's Scrim!" replied the man. This was Edward's destiny... To save the Polythanians.
Chapter 4- Forbidden Land
Edward climbed the ladder to the forbidden land for hours in the dark. His hands were bleeding. His arms were soar. There was no such thing as taking breaks. Edward reached for the top, finally, and was pulled in froa hand in the dark. The shadowy introduced himself as Avery. Avery was the gaurd of the ladder to the forbidden land since he was twenty-three. Which was a long time ago because Avery was fifty-four. Avery didn't look his age though. Probably from climbing such a high ladder so often. Edward was guided through the tunnels of a cave by Avery. When Edward reached the exit of the cave he thanked Avery.
It was going to be a long journey. He was on the south side of Polythanas and he had to climb a mountain to reach the main city, the piles of dead bodies, and the worst all... The Dark One. Edward carried a small sharp sword, a sling shot, and The Mirror Of Time in a sack on his back that was given to him by the villiagers. He climbed rocks, crossed rivers, slashed through forests for seven days when he finally had climbed up and down the mountain. Why was there not a ladder on the other side of the mountain from below? Why could you make it to the land beneath the ground from the city but not get back from it? Probably to maintain the safety of the people. All Edward was thinking about was the fact that it was always night in Polythanas.
Edward walked up to the tower with the gold face of The Dark One on top of it. Edward reached out to touch the walls. All of the sudden he heard footsteps behind him. Edward turned around and saw the biggest creature he had ever seen. It's eyes were so grey. It's cape so black and torn. His teeth dripping with blood. He whispered to Edward, "Do you fear me, Edward? You should!" then he smiled the nastiest smile ever. "Why should I fear you when I have a piece Of The Mirror Of Dimensions. I used to call it The Mirror Of Time but now I see it's true power... It can tell me the future... But it can also send anyone to any dimension!" Replied Edward. "HAHAHA! You think you can hurt me with THAT? Fool!" screamed Theandrarch, The Dark One. "I'm not here to play games Theandrarch!" yelled Edward. "There's one problem..." whispered The Dark One. Theandrarch lead Edward down to a pond... And showed Edward his reflection. No it could not be... But it was. It was The Dark One in the reflection, Not Edward. "I am your dark side, Edward, you can't hide from me!" Said The Dark One in a hushed voice. Edward fell to his knees, staring at his reflection in the rippling water, in shock. Theandrarch, The Dark One ventured off into the abyss. Could it be? Could Edward be The Dark One and be the savior of the people of Polythanas at the same time? HOW?
Edward looked into his piece of glass and tried to see the future. He wanted to see if he would defeat The Dark One. It wasn't coming to him. There was just a bunch of shadows... Grey eyes... Dripping blood... Trials... Skulls with eyes of fire... Tombstones. Edward sank to the ground. He had lost hope.
Chapter 5- Eleven Day Journey
That's enough about the ancient times. Lets talk about Edward now!
Edward ran through the night. On and on. Past dead bodies, burning buildings, fighting warriors, and ruins of the times of old. The good times. Edward fell to the ground at a tombstone. A tombstone with his name on it. Engraved below his name were these words: "Your time is now. You're going to fall!" Edward ran his hand through his hair. He screamed. The tears dripping down his cheek. Edward looked up at the moon, lifted up the powerful peice of glass, and held it on high, towards the moon. The moon shattered in two, the stars became red and fiery, dead bodies rose from the grave and the birds of the air formed a cyclone around Edward. The thunder roared. Edward ran off into the woods to fulfill his destiny.
Edward ran as fast as he could in the direction of an enemy stronghold. The leaves and twigs broke under his feet. Devilish birds perched on branches watched him as he ran on by. Edward passed ghosts that taunted him. This trip was going to take days.
On the first day he came across a man named Caspar. Casper was a phantom of the woods. A human survivor who killed all Polythanian trespassers. He took Edward in, and went on the trip with him, teaching him the way of survival. How to creep through the darkness. It was a good thing the skies were always black in Polythanas. It was easy to not get caught.
The second day, Casper was found by some Polythanians. Casper pulled out a sword and killed them all in one slash. Four of them. Edward was amazed. He, to, wanted to learn the art. So Casper taught him on their trip. He taught Edward how to catch food, slay beasts, defeat whole regiments of soldiers... How to be a true warrior.
The third day Edward and Casper walked through desert plains filled with dead bodies. Edward learned how to slay Sand Tigers and how to skin them. Sand Tigers were quite big. Around ten feet long. Their teeth were big. They had fangs, both on top and bottom. They had red eyes filled with death. They feasted on the giant scorpions, so big that they themselves could eat a cat.
The fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh days were all the same. Walking through the desert plains for what felt like eternity. On the seventh day Casper was growing tired but pressed on and kept going. All of the sudden, while walking, the old man just fell. He was losing strength. Edward couldn't do this alone. So he waited for Casper to gain strength... If he ever would. Later that night a particularly big Sand Tiger got in Edward's way. Edward had learned so much from Casper in seven days... But this... This was too big for him. So Edward pulled out his piece of The Mirror of Dimensions and pointed it at the Sand Tiger, disentigrating it. Casper was gaining strength, so he saw what happened. He was in so much shock and amazement that he rose to his feet somehow. "That is a piece of The Mirror of Dimensions... Isn't it?" Casper asked in a shaky voice. Edward smiled. "Yes, yes IT IS!" Edward said in a strong, confident voice. "Why did you wait 'till NOW to show me?" asked Casper in a confused voice. "The power I posses is dangerous... But I can trust you now... Casper!" Said Edward. Edward held up the piece of glass, pointed it at Casper, and said, "Rise, MASTER!" Casper rose... healed.
The eighth day was quite tough. Casper and Edward slayed every beast that got in their way. They were in the swamps now. New terrain, new crearures. Snakes that were thirty feet long, with teeth the size of Edward himself chased Edward and Casper. They killed them with the power of the piece of The Mirror Of Time.
On the ninth day they climbed mountains, same with the tenth day. Finally, on the eleventh day, Edward and Casper reached a huge castle with crooked and gnarled towers. ...With walls so black. The kingdom of the fallen. The stronghold of the enemy. Edward Stepped towards the door and opened it with the piece of The Mirror of Time's power. The darkness was just starting to grow stronger. Casper had a look of fear on his face. It was time to fight.
Chapter 6 - Let It Burn, Let It Burn!
When Edward stepped in he was instantly tackled. Polythanians were trying to seize him. Casper pulled out his sword and slashed at the Polythanians. Edward managed to reach into his pocket. He pulled out the piece of The Mirror Of Time. He waved it in the faces of the Polythanians. "You who serve The Dark One shall burn for eternity in this very place!" Edward screamed triumphantly. Then all of the Polythanians ignited with fire. Edward signaled Casper to run out the door.
Edward and Casper ran as far from the burning site as they could. Leaving the Polythanians to burn eternally. The smoke rose high in the sky. It could bee seen from miles away. "Let it burn, LET IT BURN!" yelled Casper in a happy voice!
Edward and Casper's journey was not yet finished. They still needed to defeat thousands of Polythanians at The Great Tower of Polythanas. They still needed to destroy all of the other strongholds. They still needed to set the prisoners free from the Polythanians. They still had to wonder the woods murky woods surrounding The Dark One's personal castle and rise an army. There was still SO MUCH to be done.
Edward looked to the cloudy sky above. Black clouds in the almost black sky. As usual. Edward saw one thing different in the sky though. A blinking light in the north sky. The direction of The Great Tower of Polythanas. The trip was going to take long. Edward had what it took. So did Casper.
This was Edward's new life. One of chaos and confusion. One that was going to take some getting used to. It was his destiny... TO SAVE THE SURVIVING PEOPLE OF POLYTHANAS. All Edward had to do was forget the past. It was the only way he could continue on this road without filling his heart with sorrow. He took his old life, like a cloak... And said, "Let it burn, let it burn!" It was time to move on. Edward looked ahead.... To the fog...
Rising. He sighed. This was his destiny.
Chapter 7- Well of Blood
Edward and casper headed back up north, towards The Great Tower Of Polythanas. The sky was darker than ever on that night. It was cold, murky, and wet. Rain pouring down so heavy and fast. They were taking an alternate route this time. It was to the east of their original route. It was a short cut... Or so they thought. As they walked down the muddy trail beside gnarled, dead trees, two big birds came down from the sky and snatched up Casper. Once Casper reached about eight feet in the air Edward hurled his sword at the gigantic bird's right eye, going right into the brain, sending it crashing to the ground, dead. Casper got up, rubbed the dirt and pebbles off of himself and walked up to Edward to thank him. "Thank you for saving My life... Again!" He said.
The two of them reached a well. They were thirsty... So they decided to have a drink of water. When they pulled the bucket up, inside of the bucket was the clearest water in polythanas. All of the sudden there were footsteps behind them. They turned around in unison to see a hunched over man in a black cloak. "My name is Darius...I own this well..." said the man, "I will let you guy drink from my well!" He handed them both bejeweled goblets of silver and gold to drink from. He watched as they drank, with a smile on his face. When Edward was half way done with his water, he looked inside his cup. What he saw was quite frightning. It was blood inside the cup. Casper dropped his cup when he saw the blood. Edward put his hand over his stomach. Darius began to chuckle. Then, he opened his outh to reveal fangs. All of the sudden Darius grew taller and taller untill he stood almost ten feet tall. He threw his cape off, blowing in the wind... So high. Darius charged at Edward and Casper. He screamed, "You too will be juiced into my well of blood. You are my victims! PREPARE TO MEET YOUR END!" Edward threw his mini dagger at Darius' face. It sliced the side of his cheek. Darius screamed in pain. Casper charged Darius and tackled him over, throwing him to the seemingly endless depths of his well of blood. Edward picked his dagger up off the ground. "This place is filled with such evil souls!" said Edward in an angry voice. "What I want to know is how that guy made the blood appear as water to us at first. Also I want to know how he went fron not even six feet, all the way to ten feet." said Casper in bewilderment. Edward held his sword out and looked around cautiously. His face looked intense. Ghosts started coming out of abyss after what had happened. The birds of the air formed a circle after what had happened. Skeletons rose from the ground. Fire spewed from the well of blood. The darkness began to grow. All the light around them all of the sudden went away. Voices were murmuring strange sentences like, "You shall fall... FOOLISH MORTALS!" or, "The time has come. JOIN US JOIN US!" and they began to scream in unison. Edward sank to the ground. He began to fade away. His heart beat so slowly and loud... Thump... Thump... Thump. Edward tried to speak but nothing came out. He saw a light up above. Was this the end? How can it end this way? It could not be! All of the sudden Edward felt a hand pulling him up, back onto his feet. It was not the end. The figure smacked Edward on the face. What? Edward's sight started to clear up. The figure was Casper. "Wake up! I killed them! COME ON! Don't go this way!" Casper screamed in a painful voice. Edward stood up straight and said, "No need to worry. It's not my time to go Casper... Not my time!"
Edward and Casper walked off into the night. Facing the phantoms and the enemies of the dark. They stood strong in a storm. They were doing what they were supposed to. "Sometimes this kind of life gets hard... But I can't back down... IT'S MY DESTINY!" Said Edward, "Yeah, I feel the same here!" replied Casper. "There's a river down in that direction!" said Casper as he pointed directly in front of him. "I'm just SO THIRSTY! Lets get a drink!" yelled Casper.
The two of them drank the cold, clean water. It cleansed their mind's and soothed their souls. Unlike the deceptive well of blood. It was a long night... Or day... Because it was always dark in Polythanas and hard to tell. It was time to get some sleep.
Chapter 8- The Dream
That night Edward had a dream... A very unusual dream... Here is how it went.
"Edward... Edward... Edward... Edward... Hello! I am you! There is nothing you can do! I am the evil soul inside of you!" said a whispering voice. Then there was a hallway filled with coffins. At the end... A mirror. There was no one in front of the mirror but there was someone in it... Or something... Pitch black... With two eyes and shining teeth. Eyes of fire, Teeth of shining silver. Dripping with blood. The creature screamed. A terrible scream it was. The mirror shattered into a million pieces. The beast came through the mirror. It was The Dark One. He ran down the hall and set free all the souls inside the coffins. Beasts rose from them. Hundreds... Thousands. They were the Polythanians. They escaped the building by busting through the walls. The outside world was so bright and happy, with singing birds. The Dark One held up a diamond. He crushed the diamond and pieces went flying all over the place, thus turning the skies black. The Polythanians searched for the pieces... But it too was dark... Too dark to see. The dark one became one with the darkness and killed or captured every creature that got in his way. Including the original inhabitants of this barren land. The Dark one rose walls and towers. He rose a black tower with his heat on top of it... Made from solid gold. His kingdom begun to crumble and become gnarled and ugly. This was Polythanas. The shadow of a figure was cast along the walkway. It was a young boy... Like Edward. Was it him? All of the sudden The Dark One climbed a mountain. He stood majestically. Then he was knocked off the edge by a shadowy figure... The boy. The Dark One fell at the entrance of his tower... Dead. The skies turned blue again. The Polythanians died and the Diamond was reformed. Then Edward saw a city. A city full of statues and skyscrapers. The colors were so bright... But the image started to fade... Edward opened his eyes... The dream was over.
Chapter 9- Two Man Army
Edward and Casper ventured off into the night to look for another enemy's stronghold. They walked for hours on end. Finally, after about twelve hours they reached the cracking black walls. Then they climbed the walls. When they reached the top they saw two guards talking to eachother. They were not paying attention. To taunt them, Edward yelled, "Over here fool!" The Polythanian gaurds turned around and saw him. They charged him. Then Casper came from the left side of them. The guards were caught by surprise. Edward slashed one across the face and pushed him off the balcony, sending him plummeting to the central garden inside the castle. Casper stabbed the other one in the heart. He pulled out his sword and knocked the gaurd off the edge of the castle. All of the sudden a bunch of troops started coming out of their cabins and into the canter of the castle. They climbed the ladders and stairs to get to Edward and Casper. Edward stood back to back with Casper so they could defeat the enemy. Edward truly had no time to get his piece of The Mirror of Dimensions. He fought on and on. His hands were dripping with blood from holding the sword for hours. Casper was tired too. They battled and battled until every last Polythanian was dead... Accept for one. That one Polythanian came behind Edward and punched him so hard he just instantly collapsed. The Polythian heard stories of a human boy being a holder of a piece of the shattered Mirror of Time. So he pulled the peice of glass out of Edward's pocket. The Polythanian threw the piece of glass was thrown over the edge of the castle. Casper jumped after it and grabbed onto it. Then he grabbed onto some bars on the wall. When Casper almost reached the top, the Polythanian started slashing at his hands. Casper held up the piece of glass and it began to shine so bright. It made the Polythanian fall backwards over into the central garden. Casper ran over to Edward and bent over. "I believe this belongs to you..." Casper said. "thank you!" Edward said as he received the piece of glass. It healed Edward. It brought him to full strength and health. "We can't rest here tonight. You never know if any other soldiers are to arrive here, so lets camp a few miles to the west.
The two of them came to a run down cabin a few miles to the west. That's where they stayed. It was a log cabin with broken windows, a crooked door, and a hole in the roof.
In the dead of the night wolves were howling. Edward's eyes opened instantly. So did Casper's. Then there was a scratching noise against the wall coming from the left side of the cabin, where Casper was. Edward jumped to his feet and flung open the door. Edward found himself in a circle of men wearing hoods and cloaks. They dropped their cloaks, revealing metallic armor and stretched out their hands. Claws extended. They opened their mouths. Fangs. Casper was right behind Edward, in shock. The men hunched over and got on all fours. Hair started growing everywhere. Suddenly they were gigantic wolves. Hungry for flesh. They jumped at Edward and Casper. Edward and Casper slashed and poked at them with their swords. Edward got scratched across his face. Casper wrestled a wolf on the ground. Casper stabbed the wolf through it's neck. Then he stabbed through two wolves at once. Edward slashed at a few and killed them. They fought on and on, killing the wolves. Within minutes there were thirteen dead wolves before their feet... Slain.
Chapter 10- The Skeletons Are Rising
"He is getting to good. We must stop him... The boy... Edward." said Theanrarch, The Dark One to a Polythanian general in a meeting. A meeting of villainous leaders. "He WILL overthrow me if he figures out how much power he truly has!" He said. The general rose from his chair, "He will never defeat you... MASTER!" replied the general. Theanrarch smiled an evil smile and he said, "I must get him now if I want to win. I have made up my Mind. I will go taunt him and try to make him give up!"
Leaves were blowing across the path, the path leading to The Great Tower of Polythanas. It had been nine days since the wolf incident with Casper and Edward. They had been traveling so fast. Day and night. On paths, through woods, over hills, under bridges, over bridges through caves and tunnels, through desserts, woods, bone yards, and finally they were coming close to their destination. The monumental gnarled black tower was just on the horizon. The mist was rising around it. Skeletons rose from the mist. Blood dripping from their sharp teeth. They roared. From miles away Edward and Casper could hear them. It was time to take on the enemy once again.
After a while, Edward and Casper came face to face with the Skeleton army. Edward pulled out the piece of The Mirror Of Dimensions. He waved it back and forth. The skeletons crumbled but always reformed within seconds. What was this? Some sort of spell bind? The piece of glass was no match for the army. The Dark One stood on high atop his black tower. He stood righ on top of the golden sculpture of his head. He yelled to Edward and Casper below, "Your little piece of glass is no match for me and my army. Too bad for you that I know spell binds. There's very few ways to defeat my army! Skeletons, stay still, I need to talk with the boy!" The skeleton army stood still. The Dark One slowly glided down from the tower with his black cape. He landed right in front of Edward. He leaned over. "It's time to give up! Give me the piece of glass!" Theandrarch said. "Why should I? TELL ME ONE GOOD REASON? I'm probably going to die anyway!" yelled Edward. "Hahaha! FOOLISH CHILD! If you give me it you will live... And live THE BEST life possible. You are just like me. You could help me rule this place! In fact... You are me. You won't have to fight me ever again. We will be one. A stronger version of me. So powerful I, or we, could transform this place into a true empire!" Said Theandrarch, The Dark One. Edward refused. The Dark One went flying off into the far north. Away from Edward and Casper.
Edward had an Idea. He lifted out his piece of glass. "I can't kill you with this... BUT I can bury you with it!" Edward yelled. "To the depths with you, defenders of the darkness! To the depths until the end of time!" All of the sudden the skeletons sank into the ground. Edward and Casper ran to the tower and climbed it. They reached the top and looked over the edge on the other side. On the other side they saw another army rising. The Dark One leading it. They were right next to an old tomb. The Dark One extended his hand and out of his fist came lightning. The lightning struck Caper, knocking him off the tower. To his painful death. Edward fell to his knees. He cried so loud the ground shook. "YOU ARE GOING TO PAY!" he screamed.
Chapter 11- The Battle Of Destiny
"Devastation RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!" screamed Theandrarch, The Dark One, at an ancient tomb with an army of Polythanians and Skeletons (who were not from the first attempt at defeating Edward) behind him. Devastation was a monster with armor of stone, and claws of silver, from thousands of years ago. He was defeated by a warrior of the times of old in the city of Paleo, and was sent to Polythanas so the beast's sleep would not be disturbed. Devastation was Around fifty feet tall, and all muscle. Today he would rise from a deep sleep and fight Edward. When Devastation busted through the stone, a crack formed in the ground from the shaking. "Ahhhhh! What is it that you want?" yelled Devastation. "I want power!" replied The Dark One with a smile on his face. Devastation smiled back.
Edward had gained confidence. He yelled to the thundery skies, "Come face me, forces of the night! You shall not prevail!" The Dark One heard Edward's cry from far away, and he saw the skies ignite with lighting around the tower... A tornado of fire.
Devastation hurled a sword at Edward from far away. Edward reflected it with his sword. Devastation ran towards Edward and reached him within seconds. When he reached Edward, Edward waved the peice of The Mirror of Dimentions in front of Devastation's eyes. He whispered, "Devastation, something tells me you were made for something of a higher purpose than helping The Dark One. He is just taking advantage of you! He will put you back in your tomb when he is done with you! Trust me... Spare me!"
At hearing this, Devastation turned around, pulled the dark ones golden head off of the tower, rested Edward back in it's place, then hurled the chunk of gold at The Dark One's army, smashing hundred's of Polythanians and skeletons as it rolled through the crowd at a fast speed.
Edward yelled to The Dark One and his Army again, saying, "Theandrarch, you are just a small part of me... AND YOU CANNOT KILL ME... But... I can kill you... Your not what's keeping me alive... But I am the one that keeps you alive!" Theandrarch, The Dark One fell to his knees. "NOOOO! You can't do this to me!" yelled The Dark One in fear. Edward lifted his piece of The Mirror of Dimensions high in the air. The lighting struck it and the lightning bolt was reflected in the direction of The Dark One. When the lighting struck The Dark One, a weight was lifted from Edward's shoulders. The skies turned blue, the skeletons became people again. The gnarled trees bloomed, the sun rose, and a river flowed. The monster's were burned to the ground and the villagers underground rose from the ground from another tunnel coming from underneath the tower. An undiscovered tunnel put there before all of the others. The villagers removed their masks and their cloaks. Edward sent everyone back to their times and dimensions in the blink of an eye and finally he sent himself back. Away from the place he faced himself. The place he saved from the fire.
As Edward faded away from Polythanas he saw a shadowy figure from afar waving. It was Casper. Edward waved back. "Thank you for everything!" Edward said. Then... he was back in his room.
