I mean, SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! For any of you that think so, Drums aren't easy. I'm a pretty good drummer myself (Don't mean to brag) and it took me 1 1/2 years to get to where I am. I especiallly hate it when people claim they can play drums when they can't, just because they think something like this: "Heck, all ya do it sit down and move two arms and a foot. How hard can it be?" That not drums. When you get down to the nitty-gritty, drums can be a very complex and melodic instrument that only a true master can play. |

Just like most instruments, playing a basic beat is easy to do, but actually getting good and using polyrhythms and fills is very difficult and takes a great deal of practice. |

Yeah, You are smart on drums Zilla. I belive that you do, because you can come out and tell me some complex beat I've may or may not have heard of. But I don't belive people who just say they can on some thing about musical instruments. |

People underestimate Drums. It's hard to do a Drum Roll.
People also underestimate Piano. You have to have fast fingers, and know what notes to push, without looking at the Piano.
I can do Ode to Joy on the Piano. |

I can do Toxicity by System Of A Down on drums XD |

Actually, you CAN look at the piano, you just have to know what you're playing before you do. I can't play it without looking at it, yet I can memorize music. Go figure. |

Unfortuantely, i quit my Piano Lessons and sold my Wurlitzer Piano.
Wurlitzer has some lively piano tunes. |

Yeah, I hate them too. I play drums, and it ain't that easy. Playing fast takes a lot of endurance. Fills and polyrythms can be tricky. Try learning to play a Metallica song like Dyers Eve, Battery, Fight Fire With Fire, or Damage Inc. Those take a ton of endurance. I try to make complicated songs when it comes to drums. Double foot pedal can also be tricky. |

I know, I can't even play the Rockband drums. But hey, who said any instruments were easy? |

@eothian
Seriosuly, that song is crazy. |

Yeah, the band at school has a tough time. They definatly are not easy. |
|

I would agree completley. It would take you more than just 'a few days' or 'this weekend' tolearn how to master the drums. Take my friend as an example. He plays guitar. He started playing a couple of years agos, and he's only getting to master it this year. |
|
|
Take the beginning of "Down With The Sickness" by Disturbed for instance. It took me about 2 weeks to get that down, and that's only the first 45 seconds of the song. On the other hand though, Mike Wengren is epical.... |

Neil Peart proves that drums aren't easy. |
|
|
Yeah he does. And Joey Jordinson. And Dave Grohl. And Taylor Hawkins. And Ed Shaughnessy. And Neil Sanderson. And Jordan Hastings. |
|
|

Him too. And Chris G.aylor. (LOL HIS LAST NAME IS BLOCKED BY ROBLOX!) btw He is The All-American Rejects's drummer. |

I used to think drumming was easy, but once I started drum lessons, I was proved wrong. It's HARD! You have to remember to do one beat with one hand and a second beat with another and tap your feet at the same time. |
|
|
In the beginning, that is the absolute hardest. Once you get it down tons of beats can be played. Then the next hard subject is single-foot double-bass. Then even more beats open up to you. Then after you've been playing a while, you need to keep quarter notes with your left foot, then do independant beat with the right foot(vice versa if you are left handed). |

At first I did think they were easy...
Untill I tried playing them, I was like "AGRGRHHHHHHH"
So im learning how to play them right now ;P |
|

That's what EVERYONE thinks at first. That's what I really hate. People who are on one of those "What instruments do you play?" threads and say, for example. they are in 7th grade, and they play the Saxophone, Clarinet, and Guitar. But 95% of the time, here's what they would say: "I play Saxophone, Clarinet, Guitar, drums, and bass.". They would just assume that A. because they play guitar they can play bass, and B. that drums are an incredibly easy instrument that anyone can just sit down and play songs on. |
