ISSUED BY THE U.N.S.C Marine Corps THE FIVE MARINE ATTRIBUTES EXEMPLARY CHARACTER. The individual Marine has a clear understanding that being a Marine brings a "special trust and confidence," and the highest expectations of the UNSC. The individual Marine is devoted to the Corps, values of honor, courage, and commitment, and possesses a moral compass that unerringly points to "do the right thing as an ethical warrior. PHYSICAL/MENTAL TOUGHNESS. The individual Marine is imbued with a warrior spirit and able to thrive in a complex and chaotic environment; able to persevere despite the obstacles to mission accomplishment. The individual Marine possesses the self-discipline and will do to push past personal preference and preconceived limits. WARFIGHTER. The individual Marine is competent in combat, grounded in basic infantry skills, characterized by sound judgement and aggressiveness in execution. Educated in the fundamentals of maneuver warfare, tactics, combined arms, and time-tested principles of battle. Maintains an offensive mindset throughout; proactive not reactive. Dedicated to a lifetime of study and learning about the profession of arms. DECIDE/ACT/COMMUNICATE. The individual Marine can think critically and arrive at and arrive at an acceptable decision based on sound tactical thinking within the Commander's intent. Communicates effectively in tactical and administrative situations with an emphasis on issuing clear, meaningful orders and guidance. Has a bias for action; seizes initiative and acts with boldness and determination on available information. LEADERSHIP. The individual Marine embraces the "exceptional and unremitting" responsibility to the one's fellow Marines. Inspires and instills confidence in other Marines during tie of adversity; sets an example in all things at all times. Adheres to, enforces standards regardless of time of day, location, or duty status, and treats all Marines and sailors with dignity and respect. CONDUCT In-game. The individuals Marines expected to act ###### at all times. APPEARANCE There are restrictions regarding how the individual Marine should look. All personnel are to abide by appearance restrictions, according to rank. These restrictions differ depending on the Marine's paygrade. Enlisted (OR-1 to OR-3) Hair, hats, face are not allowed at these ranks. NCOS (OR-4 to OR-9) No hair or hats, but serious face allowed. Junior Officers (OF-1 to OF-4) No hair is allowed, but approved hats, sunglasses, and faces are allowed. Senior Officers (OF-5 to OF-9) Approved hair, hats, sunglasses, serious faces are allowed. ACTIVITY Activity refers how often the Marine is online and patrolling. EXPECTATIONS. The individual Marine is expected to be online and taking part in UNSC activities at least 4 times a week. The Marine is excepted to notify his/her superiors prior to a long period of inactivity. Lack of unexcused activity will ### result in a demotion or other forms of punishment. RANK STRUCTURE RECRUITS. The rank of Awaiting Placement is the first rank in the Marine Corps. Personnel in this rank as well as personnel going through Boot Camp are not considered Marines. These personnel are known as "Recruits." Recruits are not Marines. Recruits are personnel who are new to the Marine Corps. Until the Recruit completes Boot Camp, they are not a Marine, they are a Recruit and are to be referred to as such. ENLISTED RANKS. Enlisted personnel make up the majority of the UNSC Marine Corps. OR-1. Private/Pvt Private (S) are the backbone of the Marine Corps. OR-2. Private First Class/PFC PFC's are Private (s) who have shown some degree of competence. OR-3. Lance Corporal/LCPL Lance Corporals are senior enlisted Marines who are not NCO's OR-4. Corporal/CPL Corporal is the first NCO rank in the Marine Corps. OR-5. Sergeant/SGT Sergeant is a standard NCO tasked with basic duties. OR-6. Staff Sergeant/SSGT Staff Sergeant is the first Staff NCO tasked with unit management. OR-7. Gunnery Sergeant/GYSGT Gunnery Sergeant is a veteran NCO tasked with unit management. OR-8. Master Sergeant/MSGT Master Sergeant is a veteran NCO tasked with operational command. OR-9. Sergeant Major/SGTMAJ Sergeant Major is the most experienced NCO. OR-9(C). Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps/SGTMAJMC Senior Enlisted Advisor of the Marine Corps. OFFICER RANKS. Officers are usually in command of Marine Units. OF-1. 2nd Lieutenant 2nd Lieutenant is the first and least experienced officer rank. OF-2. 1st Lieutenants are slightly more experienced officers. OF-3. Captain/CPT Captains are more experienced officers. OF-4. Major/MAJ Majors are veteran officers. OF-5. Lieutenant Colonel/LTCOL Lieutenant Colonels act as Division/Regiment XOs. OF-6. Colonel/COL Colonels can lead Divisions/Regiments, but are normally XOs. OF-7. Brigadier Generals/BGEN can lead Divisions/Regiments. OF-8. Major General/MAJGEN Major Generals can lead Divisions/Regiments. OF-9. Lieutenant General/LTGEN Lt.Generals can lead Divisions/Regiments. OF-10. General/Gen Generals may act as ACMC. OF-11.
