Recently, the Firestonian government decided to retire the Department of Public Safety Abolishment Act. This undermines our democracy.
The Public Safety Referendum Act states in Section (b(ii)) the following:
- The results of this referendum shall be considered legally binding.
In Section (e), it defines the definition of "legally binding" and states the following:
-The legally binding result must be enforced through other appropriate legislation.
As such, the Firestonian government is obliged to honor the referendum results.
This petition is created to ask and pressure the Firestonian government to honor the referendum results and therefore reintroduce a equivilant bill to the now-retired DPS Abolishment Act.
