The subforums probably won't be removed, just hidden, like tix, so there is no reason to wipe post counts.

Yes they can. They aren't deleting all the posts made in the subforums, just limiting access to them as the categories they were in are restructured. For instance, all posts made in Global Chat technically still exist despite Global Chat no longer being accessible. It's just hard to get to them, and interaction with them is very limited. |

They are deleting the posts, it's just that post count is a value that only gets updated when you create a post (user creates post > add 1 to their post count). It doesn't count how many threads you made because that is too inefficient to be done |

I could be wrong, but I don't think the posts are being deleted. Again, posts from Global Chat still technically exist despite the subforum being deleted. The posts are just harder to access and have limited interaction. Actually deleting several million forum posts would probably lag the site quite a bit. |

I don't think they will remove all post-count, it's just that our posts cannot be seen anymore.

That's what I thought too at first, but again, deleting millions of posts would lag the site a lot. I think they said that because the posts will probably be removed from the MyForums lists, making them difficult to find and access. I still could be wrong though. |
