Hello, Citizens of our marvelous State. I am officially announcing my campaign to obtain the Office of the Governor. For many administrations prior, our state has been run with disregard for the rule of law, with a love for wealth and power that created corruption. It is the time for that to change.
As many of you are aware, our state will experience a complete government reset. Any and All passed legislation, including confirmations, will become null and void. So, if elected, my first order of business will be to enact emergency elections. Campaigning will occur for 3 days, and official voting will be open for 24 hours, to permit people from all time zones to have their thoughts heard. Once elections conclude, We will host an emergency session to prevent the (expected) anarchy at the capital city, The City of Harford. If you don’t care to learn about me or my running mate, feel free to scroll down a bit. We’ve listed all of the plans for our administration below.
As the current Chief Court Justice of the State of Docklands, I have extensive knowledge of the Constitution. I have, with assistance and guidance from former Chief Justice Disordio, searched for qualified justices through various measures, increased the rate of completed cases that were consuming the pending cases list on the Judiciary’s trello, and enacted several rules to promote justice within the judicial system. I also have drafted several pieces of legislation that are currently in effect in the state, such as the Bill to Ban Lying under Oath. In addition, I have also monitored several Senate sessions to ensure constitutional compliance, as well as given advice to several governors and lieutenant governors to ensure that the law was being followed, as well as that you, the citizens, thoughts were taken into account.
Here is a brief message from my running mate:
“Hello citizens, I am Jish950. I started in Docklands just like everyone else. I started in DPD and did not strive for much until something clicked in me. I wanted to be part of the Docklands Special Forces, but not only that, but I wanted to be the best in DSF. I did not just stop after my tryout, I worked on becoming the best agent when others were satisfied with just being an agent. I wanted to be the agent that citizens looked to for help, the agent criminals looked to change their ways and the agent that fellow officers respected. This wasn’t easy, I needed to push myself when others stopped, I needed to accept things I could not change and make the best of them. Not only did I work hard, but I supported others to keep working. I worked non-stop until I made my goals, then I pushed passed them. I went out of my way to listen to the citizens, learn laws I was not required to know, and not stop until I helped others. This is the exact way I see running for Lt. Governor. I can just say that I’ll write a quick paragraph about me, no, I want to show you that I strive for greatness and others. I will work to help rebuild the government, listen to the citizens, help those in need, save those in trouble. During my time in Docklands, I was also a Court Justice, a Representative x2, and a Senator. My main goal while I was in those positions was to help others, and listen to others. I was dedicated to serving others, not for others to serve me. If you want anything in Docklands you have to work for it. Don’t just work for it until you get your goal, but work passed your goal. That is what I will do as a Lt. Governor. It is so much easier to just quit and say “Eh, maybe people will vote for me”. For me, that is not enough, I want people to vote for us because of how dedicated we are. I want people to vote for us because they are confident in us. I want people to vote for us because they trust us, and we have a 2-way respect for each other. I do not have years of experience in Docklands for nothing, I want to work to serve Docklands, NOT for power, NOT for the position, but for OTHERS.
In case you didn’t care to read all of that, I’m a committed person who strives to achieve excellence in everything I do, and I have never failed to achieve it.”
Here are the plans that we wish to enact, if elected. These are organized by the branch of government that we are expecting to have the most impact.
The Executive Branch:
- Reshape the Office Of The Governor so that it may act as a “one-stop shop” for citizens. We plan for it to be a place where Citizens can simply deliver their complaints and/or suggestions, as well as the official department for press releases to be issued from. Suggestions/Complaints delivered to the Office of the Governor would make their way to the appropriate agencies.
- Creation of the Government Accountability Office, a division of the Department of Justice, to investigate government officials for any unlawful acts that may have been committed.
- Pushing Congress to create bills to define all of the departments, so that their operations are clear and any misconduct may result in a lawsuit against the offender.
- A fully functioning Department of Justice. We will (attempt) to create a system that notifies attorneys when a player is in need of one, to protect the rights of those who are accused.
The Judicial Branch:
- Extensive reviews of anyone we plan on nominating to the Supreme Court.
- Enactment of (enforceable) Judicial Branch Guidelines, to, amongst other things, limit the ability of Court Justices to hold a high-ranking position in any department, as well as prohibiting them from holding any position in Congress. The reasoning is to ensure that our government has checks and balances.
The Legislative Branch:
- Requirement of Public Referendums for Constitutional Amendments that do not receive a unanimous vote in both chambers.
- Requirement of bills and confirmations to go to applicable committees for a public hearing, if a committee that relates to the bill exists.
In addition to those changes of the government, We are also planning on pushing congress to create, amongst other things:
- A Senate Judiciary Committee to fully vet Supreme Court Justices.
- A Bill to Define Subpoenas, Which will require persons who receive an official subpoena from a Court Justice of any division of the Docklands Judiciary, or from a committee to appear before such bodies.
We hope that you take into considering what each of the candidates are willing to bring to the table, not just who they are.
To those I've wronged in the past, I wish to say sorry. All I ask for is a fresh start, even if I'm not elected.
