US Army Training (and Doctrine) Command
ADVANCED Training Handbook and Guidelines
Many points stated in the Basic handbook will not be stated here. Please read that one before reading this one.

The different types of training sessions are BMT, BCT, and OCS.
OCS is advanced training offered to senior Enlisted (E5-E9)
It is the ONLY way to be promoted from Enlisted to Officer.
The structure of OCS varies, as every DS looks for certain qualities in Officers.
The Structure of OCS:
-Initial Formation
(Optional) Inspection
-Drill Commands
-Classroom
(Optional) Interview
(Optional) Scenarios
(Optional) [Custom]
-Final Formation
-Promotion Ceremony
-Dismissal
Explaining the Structure:
Initial Formation:
Before the training begins the Instructor will have the trainees line up before him, STS. This is how EVERY training session will begin, with the exception of raids.
Drill Commands:
You are REQUIRED to know every command mentioned in this section of the Basic handbook.
Classroom:
To pass OCS you are required to hold a basic grasp on the ranks.
Note: You do not need to memorize them, just have the ranks page open.
(Optional)
Anything listed Optional is not required in the average training, and the way it’s run is decided by the DS.
Final Promotions:
During OCS there is a great chance that at least one of you will achieve Officer status. The DS will line you up, write down your names, and give them to their superior for a promotion.
Promotion Ceremony:
At the end of the OCS those who passed will have their names called out before dismissal. Whether this is a full-formals ceremony or just a quick name-calling before dismissal is up to the DS.
Dismissal:
