Do you guys prefer terrain-based environments, or modeled environments?

Why not Terrain based land and Parts based models on it? |

@Scotti,
That was my dilemma, I wasn't sure which'd be received better- Terrain with models, or a modeled environment with modeled objects.

Doesn't really matter as long the end result shows effort and is pleasing to see.
But if you choose terrain, you really shouldn't cheap out on model quality. |

@Ocks, a majority of my models are FBX files, and are going to be low-poly (For gameplay sake obviously).
I just wanted to know which type of environment would be go hand-in-hand with Low poly models.

The thing is terrain is really detailed with complex shapes and textures.
If you go with low poly models, they won't mix together very well. I suggest you to have textures on your models. |

@Ocks,
Perhaps, I just thought the unique combination of low-poly and a detailed terrain would be quite neat, and stand out.
I may just model the terrain, for my lack of creativity.
