I am pleased announce my return to NUSA as well as my candidacy for the United States Senate. Some of you may remember me and some of you may not. For those that don't know me, I was the 3rd Mayor of Las Vegas and former Speaker of the House of Representatives. I was highly involved in NUSA from 2014 to 2016 but have since taken a long hiatus to focus on life.
Why should you elect me?
Well, my experience as a legislator is unmatched. In the past, I've served many terms as both a representative and a senator. In October of 2015, while serving my fourth term as a representative, I was elected by my colleagues to serve as the Speaker of the House. During my tenure as speaker, I proposed and advanced legislation that related to electoral reform and agency oversight, I unified the House into one cohesive supermajority, and I cracked down on corruption and inactivity within the courts.
As you may all know, the next presidential election is approaching quickly. With a new president comes a large pool of nominees to fill every position for department secretary and agency director. The Senate is the only defense that can prevent corrupt and abusive nominees from attaining these high positions of power. That is why it is important to have experienced senators who are equipped and ready to take on such a task.
