Have you ever been in a game and noticed that bricks that were far away from you seemed to turn invisible?, or that you had a great deal of lag when looking at a lot of bricks? You can make most of these problems go away by editing a few of your rendering settings. A majority of lag for people with older computers is caused by roblox settings that were set to adjust automatically (But roblox seems to have a problem balancing out the available resources). The first set of helpful advice I can give you is reducing roblox's on board graphics settings to run at lower than they are set to, these settings make little to no difference on your visual aspect but manage to decrease lag, leaving you with a better game play experience in the long run. 1) enter a game in build mode. 2) wait until the option to use "tools"(upper left) opens up and click to open up the roblox power tools 3) on the main menu select the "tools" fly out menu and select "settings" from the menu 4) a pop up will appear and remind you that "roblox may become unstable when changing some of these settings", click OK and let the the settings window pop up, I have done testing on all of these settings myself and know what most of them do. 5) there are two panels in this new window, a list of settings options(right side), and a list of setting area's(left side) select the "Rendering" from the settings area list. 6) now on the right side of the window the option settings will change to the rendering options 7) There are a few area's in this set of options, the "quality","General","Performance","Debug", and "Screen" option sections, we are going to ignore anything in the Debug and Screen area's and move strait into the Quality settings. Its recommended that you find the settings that work for you. you may have to restart roblox a few times to find out what works best. I have listed everything in the order which it is presented in the options panel so you can look things up. AASamples = None --AA Samples are the process of Intermixing colors from other pixels located around the pixels being mixed, you can disable this option to help you view decals/patterns AluminumQuality = Low Antialiasing = Off --Anti aliasing is the process of smoothing Sharp lines, in the case that your computer doesn't have a high enough resolution Anti aliasing can help keep everything form looking pristine. you can disable this if you aren't bothered by its effects Bevels = Off --Bevels are 45 degree corners added to the edges of all bricks to to make them look smoother, You can turn this off safely if you don't mind bricks looking totally square CompoundMaterialQuality = Low CorrodedMetalQuality = Low DiamondPlateQuality = Low GrassQuality = Low IceQuality = Low PlasticQuality = Low Shadow = Off --Shadows actually take a fair amount of Processing power turning this off might help you deal with some issues. SlateQuality = Low TrussDetail = Low WoodQuality = Low Notice that I set all the material settings to "Low", this will cause roblox to make all bricks look as if they were Plastic (as in no details of the material). If you still want to see these details you should set the material quality to "Medium" or "Automatic" 8) Scroll down to the "General" section and apply these settings AlwaysDrawConnectors = (should already be off but UN-check it if it's selected) FrameRateManager = Off --Turning the frame rate manager is a good idea if your computer is more than a year old, Roblox Created this option to attempt to edit settings on the fly to match resources availability, however it has not been perfected and might actually cause problems. In most cases turning it off will remove all disappearing bricks but a few might still disappear if your computer is low on memory or too slow to process all bricks accurately. HOWEVER the Frame rate manager has been useful in keeping the Workload of the computer down, turning this off may cause lag, it is best you test this option first to see if you can handle the extra workload. graphicsMode = Automatic --Your graphics mode is the processing method for all the pixels that will run by your GPU, Leave this on "Automatic" or roblox will fail to run if your computer doesn't support the processing method 9) Click the OK button at the bottom of the window, this will make another pop up appear reminding you that you will need to restart roblox for the changes to apply. 10) Restart roblox and test out your new settings, you should see an increase in bricks that were previously invisible and experience less lag when looking at a lot of bricks, remember to adjust the settings if you think the graphics are too low. If you feel that this did not help you or that you do not like the settings you can follow steps 1-4 and click the "Reset settings" button located on the lower left of the window that holds the settings then restarting roblox again.

Been waiting for something like this to come around. It's a guide to the exact issues I've been having. I've played around with the settings before but I've never got anywhere. Thx. It's a huge help.

Yes but the "Disappearing Bricks" Was an intentional setting of roblox, If you play a game with alot of bricks, then it "Turns them Off" So you cant see them, thus, less bricks to see, less visual compents, Minor Lag, thats why when you enter a game with 1,000's of bricks you have little lag from it, Large quantities of bricks creat alot of lag, Removing them reduces that and produces faster gameplay.

@Teddy, You didn't read the whole thing did you?, I wrote a warning in the Frame rate manager section warning about just that. You should not post based on the title of the thread next time.

Thank you Comrade! This has Helped me a lot in War Games, where I previously could not see Snipers! I always had a feeling ROBLOX was limiting the TRUE POWER of my Laptop! (it's actually very good for a Laptop. Two Cores you see.)

I know how to eliminate all disappering bricks. Set the minimum cull block distance to the highest number it can take.
