I suppose having a basis of understanding with what scripting is could help? I suppose something like a beginner tutorial on YouTube could be a place to start.

What I did was get a game idea and figure out how to perform it. I checked the wiki, asked on the forums, and watching some tutorials. I don't recommend just following the tutorials step by step though, use aspects of the tutorial and integrate it into the game idea.

You should learn basic programming with something like scratch, then move to Lua and learn the roblox API.

Also dont let tutorials hold your hands too much dont be afraid to just play around and experiment with what you already know.

This might motivate you, every single scripter there was EVER started out just like you did. The great scripters never quit, they wanted to learn Roblox Lua, so they did. Do you expect to learn english in 1 day? 1 week? 1 year? no. It takes time, in a year, or even 6 months.. hell, maybe even 3 months depending ## #### ###### you will be able to script fluently. Baby steps, have patience. Nothing worth having comes easy.
