In the sight of the goddess Hynethe of war and conquest, and of Her holy affinity, the laws of men are declared and legitimated thus, to be followed by all Valkanrians blessed with life through Her noble bounty. These laws are protected by the justice of the land, not to be discouraged nor discarded; those who consider themselves exempt from the law are traitors, king or count or peasant.
I - All foreigners have the right to visit Valkanren, so long as they do not disrupt a military, diplomatic, or governmental event.
II - Murder is a crime above all others.
III - No person shall be discriminated against or shunned or insulted on the basis of their character or being.
IV - Any person accused of breaking the law is innocent until proven guilty, and may request a trial (either through judge, jury, or combat) in the sight of the law.
V - Any person that attempts to make themselves more powerful or more influential than the King of Valkanren or the royalty will be convicted of treason.
VI - Nobody will deceive another citizen into the belief that they are of a higher rank or status. Likewise, no person will wear uniform incorrect for their station or deny the rights or privileges of their superiors, whether socially or militarily.
VII - Soldiers in Valkanren must not be promoted or instated to higher ranks without reason, and likewise may not be promoted or instated in rapid succession, or immediately.
VIII - Only the king may bequeath pardons to convicted or accused criminals.
IX - Soldiers of Valkanren may not invade the territory of a country with whom the Kingdom is not at war whilst on-duty. Such an activity will result in said soldier being stripped of rank and title, and convicted of sedition and plotting to cause war.
X - Should any Valkanrian be tortured, maimed, killed, or brutalised by another nation, that Valkanrian has a right to demand protection and intervention from the government.
XI - The House of Segethard is the only dynasty recognised as the royal family of Valkanren. The countless other individuals that have attempted to spy on Valkanren or manipulate our members into the creation of another group are not recognised as true rulers of Valkanren. Only the king may designate members of the House of Segethard, as is his right as a fief-holder.
XII - In times of warfare, loyalty to the Crown of Valkanren is of paramount importance.
XIII - Any person may follow the career path that they choose, so long as they meet the necessary qualifications.
XIV - Titles, lands and incomes will be inherited through a system of agnatic primogeniture. Females are not able to inherit land in Valkanren.
