K so.. to all those people that don't think about other peoples internet connection (ncc and party).
You guys need to remember that not everyone is as technically oriented as you or me. Most people buy a "basic" internet connection from Internet service providers providers when they are running a "deal" Basic for my provider. is 256KB/s Which as you know is very slow compared to roblox requirements (but does work).
I don't see why you guys can't look past your own noses and see that I'm actually trying to help people. If nobody ever helped anyone where would we be? I want to hear constructive criticism from you guys, not "W3LL meh 1terweb c0nn3ction 1s betta". |

Stop all the arguing already. His guide is accurite. Wireless is slower, .5 mbps is all you need for roblox and 1 gig is a relatively "normal" sized file. |

@VoodDoo
Read this this quote and tell me what word is at the end of it
"downloading large (10MB+) files constantly. "
I do believe it is the word CONSTANTLY, as in continuously downloading something of 10MB in size |

@tofwap I'm suprised your getting so much resistance in this. You obviously have more knowledge over this than them. :D
I suggest you to just ignore any flaming and prove the noobs with little any other conversation. :3 |

@Naruto, They are not noobs for being "know-it-all's", although that is annoying.
Besides, no feedback = no body cares/ in the very least i know they care enough to 'try' to post correct information. As such their comments are welcome. I can always smack them down if they are wrong after all, If they are right then the topic has added knowledge which I'll use in Version2 if it ever needs writing.. |

ah guys... i maybe a kid but i love to solve problems and as we all know some might say "tl;dr"
so now tofwap it was a nice guide that i skimmed through and as everyone can see the majority of the forum posts are related in saying "thanks" in a way but sometimes people just like it level with them so it doesnt start something that may become more than what a few paragraphs can be so sometimes just dub it down a bit to make it more simple and to where everyone can understand and yes im glad that your taking educational courses of technological devices/computers of any kind and knowing that you what your doing some people think different as everyone is there own person behind a computer screen and many do not think highly of others above there level and very hard to believe... you've withstood your ground and made your choices but some others may not comprehend your learning and or how you learn and for that they become misunderstood ....of course im just mixing complex words for you guys but sometimes you understand... (over my 5th time using that word?) some people "WILL" be better then your and i already know you know that and that you think im taking side with tofwap but im trying to stay in the middle ...
ok lets just put it this way.... everyone has different level that may seem similar but are not when faced with something theyve already dealt with and dont want to again

I disagree with this article.
My connection to ROBLOX is around 5mbps which according to your guide states I should have no problems, yet I do, even on normal games without infection scripts, ect that are perfectly made.
Also, it doesn't seem like you're taking critisism well, although the first guy who said you were using 'nubbish' words is an absolute idiot. |

In my OPINION (notice opinion), I'd say it's users running ROBLOX on old, slow computers with integrated chipsets. |

"0 - 0.25 MB/s --- you are going to have occasional problems
0.25 - 0.5 MB/s -- you will have few problems
0.5+ MB/s -- you will never have problems "
If your internet speed is under 0.5 MB/s you need to stop attempting to play online games, get a job, and buy some decent internet.
You'll only not have problems if you have 7 MB/s internet or so. 3 MB/s internet is terrible. |

@SethiXzon, You might be suffering from graphics problems [http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=24525513],
Network connections aren't everything. There are a number of things that need to happen correctly for your computer to work in sync. A network is just important for connections. I had a .25mb/s connection about two years ago and I only ever ran across problems on severs with more than 12 people. I know for a fact that roblox is developing and these numbers might change but I did write this guide back when that was not a factor.
@LPGhatguy, Your underestimating that capabilities of network stream rates, I pay for a 512 kb/s (which spikes to 1.5MB on occasion for some reason) and Have never had problems. I usually play roblox while streaming music and occasionally while downloading a large file, no lag included. |

Hah, I like this guy. He's like me. He's totally owned you all.
Your all fails.

@setixzon, well you obviously have a problem other than your '5mbps' and level 6 graphics card, Whats your Ram, processor clock, and your Front side bus's speeds? |

CPU: Core 2 Extreme @ 3.00 GHZ
RAM: 4 GB Corsair Dominator PC8400
FSB: Too lazy to check.
What do you mean by 'level 6 graphics card'? Anyway, I'm getting an HD 5870/GTX 470 soon/ |

Your card will have 3-4 numbers somewhere in its name (EX: 2450 or 345). If you look at those numbers they give a great deal of information without having looked at the other information
*The first number will give you the generation of the card, meaning its model age a generation 2 was created before a generation 3. Note that just becuase your card is newer does not make it better
*The second number is a power level, This number in the set will basically give you an idea of how good this card is without looking at other specifications. The levels range from 1-9, 1 being a low level card (not very good) and a 9 being the best card on the market.
*The last set of numbers help you identify what cards (in a generation) game out first. You have a 4570 and a 4550, which one is newer??. The higher the last set of numbers the newer the card inside of that generation of cards.
*There should also be a prefix on the name of the card such as GT or GTS. This information can change the information you got from the second number listed above. you can have two cards one of them is a 3400GS and the other one is a 3400GT , whats the difference between them? well the GT has an advantage over the GS because of its Clock rates.
"Although ATI don’t really use suffix on their newer models, Nvidia still are. Here’s a quick reference, from slowest to fastest, when you compare two identical models otherwise: GS < GT < GTS < GTX" <--- HR

You do know that the last thing you said is so obvious that anyone could figure that out without needing to know what a computer even is?
Anyway, where is that scale from? I've never heard of it. |
