A recent study of cultural backgrounds took place a few weeks ago in a small country a little north of Mexico in the Asu tribe. The Asu people have a strange habit of worshipping "racs," animals the size of large bulls. Racs are a sign of social status in the Asu tribe, and it is almost a civic duty to own at least one rac. To impress others, people sometimes own herds of racs. At the age of sixteen in the Asu tribe, a sacred special ceremony is held that allows teenagers to receive a rac. Racs are sometimes dangerous, however. They consume much of the Asu's food resources, leave droppings all over the owner's property which stink up the air, and sometimes even go on ramapages and kill thousands of Asus a year.
Do you think racs are worth all the trouble they cause?
