READ NAO OR LEAVE.
If you say TL;DR, I will find you.
Heres what it is:
The Jump Pack, or PTR (That's what I sent to jeditkacheff), is a small, jetpack-like rocket that goes on yer back. Obvious, eh?
Clicking once will boost your player in the direction you clicked, kind of like a leap. It can't fly, just boost you.
Trust me.
Now, you can boost up to 5 times in quick succesion to make your ROBLOXian "Glide". each boost makes you fly about 15 studs at a 45 degree angle, so if you click at a 45 degree angle, you would go somewhere between 15-25 studs in range, depending on how many times you clicked. But, my little block-shaped friend, there's a catch.
On the side of your screen is a small GUI that pops up, kind of like a health bar. It either appears next to your Health, or on the other side. I dunno...
It's called the Combustion-O-Meter. That's what it says underneath. On it there are 5 notches. Nothing fancy. Each time you click, you go up a notch. The Combustion-O-Meter (WOW! That's a lotl!) looks something like this...
5[G]
4[G]
3[G] Status: Ready
2[G]
1[G]
G= Green.
When you click, you go up a notch, so if you clicked 5 times, you would see THIS:
5[R]
4[R]
3[R] Status: High combustion
2[R] WARNING!
1[R]
R= Red. If you don't imagine the colors being there (Since we can't have colored posts), then leave NAO PL0X.
If the Combustion-O-Meter reaches 6 (Or goes over 5), your jump pack overheats, and you lose a fair amount of Health, as well as the jump pack not working. Then, you have to wait 10-20 seconds before you can use it again.
That reminds me!
Above, I made that little diagram, and see how it can go up to 5? Well, you need to wait 2-3 seconds (Not randomly chosen, I can't decide) for each notch to go down. Thus, if you clicked 3 times in fast timing, you would have to wait 6-9 seconds until it returns to 0, which is not shown. Also, you don't have to wait until the Combustion-O-Meter is at 0 again to lift off. You can take a leap to another platform with 2 boosts, land, then leap to another platform with 2 boosts. The Combustion-O-Meter would be at 4, and you may want to wait before flying again, or else you may overheat, and fall into the abyss.
Here are some scenarios!
Scenario 1: Bob wants to cross a valley, but it's filled with zombies. (OH NOES!) What ever will he do? Lckily, Bob has his jump pack handy! He clicks 3 times to travel 45 studs to the other side. Bob wins!
Scenario 2: Stan is on the edge of a cliff, but he's faced with a problem: Fall down to his doom or get sliced to bits by nooby players. Stan takes out his jump pack, and he thinks he is saved! He leaps out towards a few platforms, and clicks too fast. His jump pack tries to warn him with the flashing WARNING! sign, but he doesn't pay attention. Bob's jump pack overheats and he falls to his fate.
Hehe, my fingers are getting tired.
Also, another addition could be this: A rangefinder. Miked has one in his game, so why not one on this? If you look at the Combustion-O-Meter, there is a little light, either colored red or green. If it is green, it means that you can make the jump. If it's red, you're doomed. This way, players know whether or not to make the jump. It's not that complicated. And besides, it's an addition.
WOW! That's a long post!
But wait, there's more!
Post your replies below, and if you say something like below, tell me why! Don't just be mean and say no, give a reason:
"I disagree."
"Lolwut?"
"TL;DR"
"OFF THE FORUMS"
"Too much scripting" <-- THIS is the one I'm worried about!
I know it takes a lot of scripting, but if you think it's a ton of scripting, look around you! Look at all the things that ROBLOX has done! We have groups, games, hats, gear, faces. If you think this is complex, think of the Zombie Staff! (Don't even get me started on that >.<)
Ok, bye. |
