That kind of thing applies to every gear. What about people who don't like swords? There are plenty of useless swords for them.
I'd have it tie their arms behind their back(just weld them back) with the cuffs on, slow movement speed, and keep them from equipping anything (like the hot potato does), and only last for a limited time. |

Noobs come to my cheif's station all the time and do bad things. We have to force them to get in the back of a car and get locked up. Sometimes they want to and sometimes they dont. They use gear too. thats why we have guns. |

At least zip cuffs or something to restrain people long enough to get them into the back of a car or in a jail cell so they cant fight back and hurt people. I know people might abuse it.

And people don't get annoyed with gravity coil+hot potato? I force you to hold a bomb that you can't drop or pull out gear with until you pass it off, and me, the only nearby person, just took-off int the sky. But those are gear. People kill people with gear all the time, that annoys them, but we still have it. That was not nearly a good reason. Relative in jail/put in handcuffs. People have relatives that have been killed with swords (sword killings still do happen), had incidents with hairdryers and water, killed by fireworks, and you know what, those are still gear. So that also isn't a good argument. People can get the wrong idea with anything. Such as a sword, even the word can be used wrong. Foam Finger, that could be too.
