How about an egg that actually hatches? Like, after having it for 3 days or so, it hatches and something comes out, maybe a little version of the player who owns it? And diffrent type of those eggs hatch mini dudes that do diffrent things, some would follow you around, others would ride on your shoulder like a parrot, you never know!
