So, we all know the reason for vehicle seats was to eliminate difficult scripting when building cars. But to build planes or boats, we have to do lots of difficult scripting, especially if we want to use a vehicleseat. So, here's thing number one to add: BoatSeats. Yep, thats what I said. BOATseats. It should be configured the same way a VehicleSeat, plus "Water Height". Water height should determine the boats minimum altitude to avoid sinking (perhaps you would set the "Water Height" to the same number as the Y axis of the water's position). This, however, should not limit the maximum altitude. That way we can do cool in-water ramp stunts :D. However, [cancollide = true] bricks should immensly slow the boat for realism (ever seen a boat drive on land? I don't think so). However, this "land" feature should be at least [true/false] toggleable. As for that blue speedometer thingy, it should show speed and coordinates (both should be able to be [true/false] toggled seperately) My next idea? Right here: AircraftSeats. That's exactly what it sounds like. A VehicleSeat for airplanes. It, too, should be configureable like a VehicleSeat. Instead of "Water Height" like on the BoatSeat, it should have "Maximum Altitude," deciding how high the aircraft can go intead of how low. There should be no limit to the MaxAlt configuration, so the players can make super-high-flying planes. MaxAlt should also be able to be turned off altogether for space travel. They, like the boats, should also be slowed down when touching collideable bricks for easy landing. The speedometer, like the boat, should show both speed and coordinates. Like the boat, the showing of speed and coordinates should be toggled seperately. The "speedometer" (quotation marks are there because it is now showing more than speed) should also show altitude. The altitude showing thingy whatever should, like coords and speed, be toggled on and off seperately and should flash red when the max altitude is reached. If you have ideas to add or support this idea, speak up Robloxians!

I support, but if only if a vehicleseat is made for trains. A vehicleseat for trains will be helpful in any size or guage and it will help make the wheelsets turn on curves.

He knows it's scriptable, and so were the car seats. This would really help games. Support.

Scriptable, true. But not everyone knows how to script.

@Metrotren Trains already handle turns just fine.

Yep. Just make the turnspeed 0.

What do the plane and boat seats have to detect so it flies or floats? The current vehicle seats detect hinges so it functions like a car.

Or you could put the wheels on separate carriages, then connect the carriages to the main part of the train with hinges. Smooth as grease on a goose's feather.

Of course a VehicleSeat won't work if you do that, you need a script then.

@noogai: It shouldn't need to detect anything. Just move the plane, like grease on a gooses feather (good one, SirPowel)

I support, and I hate how people can put down a post with the annoying words of "its scriptable" but the suggestons are for so that the admins might see and make this a roblox feature so many people can use it, not just one place, so please dont put down a post with "its scrpitable"

No support. 1 EASILY scriptable with current vehicle seats. 2 Keeps kids from learning valuable life skills.

Video game design is not a valuable life skill, valuable life skills are valuable life skills. Also, scripting planes and boats with vehicleseats is UNBELIEVABLY difficult. Way to be a spamming flamer.

I don't see how giving my opinion makes me a spammer. And if anything you're the flamer here for getting all worked up over my opinion. And no, it is not insanely hard. As long as you know how to use the changed trigger, you should have almost no problems.

I hate it how people just go to every thing and say 'It's scriptable' Seriously, the idea is seats that you can use in any place, not just yours. People wouldn't need to script that, and I find it very hard to script planes.

Firefalcon made my point. Of course its scriptable, but not everyone can script. If your not open to new ideas what are you doing in the "Suggestions & Ideas" section of the forums?

If your not open to criticism or people having their own opinions, what are you doing in the S&I forum? Let alone POSTING an idea here.

#32322656Monday, August 23, 2010 3:04 AM GMT

I am open to criticism. But only the constructive "maybe you could improve..." criticism, not discouragement.

#32322769Monday, August 23, 2010 3:06 AM GMT

And if you have a negative opinion, then don't post it. Do you think the 5 in 6 people who like this idea want to hear how contradictory your opinion is to theirs? Or how much you would not like this to be a feature? And how no one else should enjoy this idea because its not to your taste?
