Okay. I've had enough. Even though I've only been posting on the forums for a little bit of time, I know that the Forums on ROBLOX.com have stayed the exact same way with the exact same format for a LONG time. Almost since the beginning of ROBLOX.com in '05. On the ROBLOX forums, we can:
~ Make new threads
~ Reply to threads
~ Browse the forums
On pretty much EVERY other forum on the InterNet, we can:
~ Make new threads
~ Reply to threads
~ Browse the Forums
~ Make colored text
~ Use the Tab key
~ Make underlines
~ Make bold text
~ Make crossout text
~ Make italic text
~ Use REAL quotes, and not copy-pasted stuff
~ Use REAL signatures, and not just some thing inside some tildes (~)
~ Have forum profiles
~ Search the Forums so much easier than on ROBLOX.com
and many other features. I ask you, why hasn't the ROBLOX devteam upgraded the Forums yet? They've got a new theme. They're going to get Ogre 1.7.1, or so I have heard. They're already making TONS of hats. Hundreds of thousands of kids join every day. Thousands buy BC. Contests need a little refinement, but are pretty good. The News tells us a lot of stuff. Parents is pretty good. Help section is great! My ROBLOX is intricate and took time. The only thing that hasn't been upgraded is the Forums. It's so frustrating to not be able to format things PROPERLY and use bold, italics, crossouts, underline, colored text, emoticons (on some forums) and forum PROPERLY.
I'm sorry for copying any threads, but I absolutely HATE searching the forums (the search bar needs an update, but that's another thread) because it's so tedious, and didn't want to bump any other posts in case I was in danger of necrobumpage.
For those of you who would say "TL;DR" or "word wall zumg!1!" or "ranting!" or someting like that... here's a squigglebox.

Nonetheless, I think the forums are perfect the way they are. I wouldn't want users posting in distracting fonts, colors, and formatting. The only time where I think having bold/italics/font size/color would be good is for the *very first post*, because after that, it simply becomes a nuisance to have to view.
And sigs would kill me. They make foruming so difficult. >_> |

I can also add to that comment, pictures = spam, and lots of it. If you've ever tried reading RHQ posts, it is a jumbled mess of large sigs, pictures, and size 24 text.
Roblox forums are perfect for foruming. If you want to make pretty text art, I suggest joining a pretty text art forum. |

@blobbyblob: Okay, yeah, but placing a picture is so much easier than making people go to a decal. Why? Here's why. The person has to copy and paste the URL into their browser, making them lose anything else they've copied, and if the decal is the wrong dimensions because of the stupid ROBLOX square decal thing, then they have to take the decal and place it in a place. And if they can't take the decal, they've just lost something they've copied for nothing.
Signatures on the MC forums have a scrollbar, so that they don't make the post ubergigantic. That would work perfect for the ROBLOX forums. And while size 24 text is annoying, I'm not saying we should have text size changers. I'm saying we should be able to edit our posts, crossout text, bold things, underline them, etc. and use the Tab key for better use of the Scripting Help forum.

You have a point there, so here's my opinion.
The forum upgrades I support:
- Creating text links.
- Allow the thread creator to make bold text.
Yep, I'm boring, but I know how annoying sigs are when you're actually trying to forum. And I know how the other features you've described can backfire in the hands of some narb. |

I comepletely agree! I am somewhat new to the forums of ROBLOX, but on other forums I have been able to format my work to perfection, here whatever I make looks like a troll made it. I am sick of the bad threads. It's about time people suggested this and made it into a well-made thread! Also, shouldn't we be able to edit our posts? Anways, THIS IS SUPPORT!!! |

I think the forums would be better with many text features and other assortments, but the forum profile thing should be kept to your RÓBLOX profile unless you want to play with one and forum with a second. |
