I'm not so fond of this idea, but this is the only solution I can think of. I think ROBLOX should disable comments on every item (and I do mean EVERYTHING), delete ALL of the comments, and then re-activate the comment feature a few days later. I know some people would hate to see their old comments go away, but it would eventually be drowned in spam at some point. I mean, every time I go and see people's opinions on hats/gear/etc. and what they do (if gear or noise-making hat), everything I see is "post ths on 8 hats 5 faces & 2 gear to get 100000 robux and tix ololol" or "come 2 my place PLZPLZPLZ ill give u 40000000 tix plz come k" or sometimes some stupid bunny thing that says "i was gonna give u money/waffle but i got hungry so i ate it sry." How am I supposed to figure out if that item is worth buying? And if I give up and buy it anyway, I might hate it and I just lose more money! All the comments are anymore is a place to scam people and try and get free virtual money! If this idea is used, there should be a new feature to flag comments as spam and if enough people do it, the comment will be hidden or deleted. And, at the bottom of pages where you can type a comment, it should say something along these lines (preferably in big red letters): DO NOT copy and paste anything that says "copy and paste this on (number of items) and get (amount of tickets/ROBUX) for free," or anything similar to that. These are complete lies and scams and do not work. If you try it, you may get a temporary or possibly even permanent ban. Also, do not advertise anything through comments or messaging. We only accept opinions and constructed criticism on the comments, so please try and keep your comments nice and neat. (end) Please give me your opinions on this, I want to know what you guys think. Thanks for reading this, even if it was a tad long.

I guess so, I'm the first person commenting because this was a little bit long.

Thanks for the support. I need more people to read this, but I don't know how many people are willing to take their time to read it. I'm tired of the countless amount of spam on ROBLOX, and it needs to stop.

No, this wouldn't work. Because although it reduces spam, it completely prevents users who play games or buy items to actually SEE what it's like or about (yes I know, those are usually clogged down at the bottom, but users often attempt to find them). So, my idea would be: A comment rating thing. You can vote Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down for a comment. It would check your IP to make sure you don't just get on two more alts and delete the comment. Basically, if something is three thumbs down, it is marked as spam and cannot be seen. At all. Then, it is sent to the creator of the whatever to modify it. He can modify it by.. 1. Adding a "Comment has been marked as spam. [Show]" option for it. 2. Removing the comment completely. 3. Unmarking it as spam. There would also be three sections to the Commentary: Oldest, Newest, and Highest Rated.

Oh and you can vote for every comment once.

Well, I said that they would re-activate the comment feature a few days after the deletion of ALL of the comments that were there before. That way, the spam is gone, we can delete any new spam the troublesome users come up with, and we can still post decent comments.

Yes, however, then you have the same problem. Look. You need to figure out a way to make it OKAY for the non-abusers and BAD for the abusers. This is not a solution for that.

Maybe if there was a comment rating system (like you mentioned before), and a user had posted 2-5 bad, inappropriate, and/or spam comments, then an admin would look over those comments and remove their ability to comment on items, if necessary.

They would just get a failing bot to do it.

Recruitsolder, That wouldn't work. What if someone gives their opinion and everyone hates it? They'll vote down and the good opinions wouldn't be seen.

That would take a while to be voted down. Besides, within five seconds that comment would be pushed to the back. And the creator gets the final say on what happens to the comment.

Borninggoku911, please don't post that in the first place you see... Plus, it's not for sale. If you REALLY wanted to know, you should've asked through a PM or checked their inventory to see. Surely you've learned how to do that by now? Anyway, back on topic.

I suppose the text next to the comment could work. And if a user spams, their ability to comment being taken away would work. But I don't really think shutting down the comments and reactivating them will do anything. There are still new users =/
