I sighed, my hands in my pockets as I walked down the sidewalk, heading home. I stopped at the end of the street, hitting the button on the street post over and over until the light turned red, and the word 'WALK' appeared on the other side. I started crossing the steet. Out of nowhere, are car sped down the road, not bothering the red light. It hit me, everything went black.
I opened my eyes. "I'm alive?!" I said, amazed. I stood back up. I felt, odd though...
"Whatever," I said. The car was gone. I headed back home. The door, as usual, was unlocked, I walked inside.
"Hey mom," I called. No response. I walked into the living room, seeing my mom on the couch, crying.
"What's wrong?" I asked, walking over to her. She didn't look up. "Mom!" I nudged her shoulder. My hand went right through. I then knew why she was crying.
I didn't survive the hit after all.
