Some is good, and some of it is a guy screaming his head of into a mic ( I don't get why people would want to listen to stuff like that ><)
I personally don't like most of this new crap that has been cropping up in rap, so I stopped listening to the genre >< Niki Manaj brought me back for a while, but I don't really see the essential appeal of the genre anymore.

Screamo is everywhere in my school.
Everyone is either wearing a escape the fate,day to remeber,devil where's prada.or a bring me the horizon t-shirt.
I seem to be the only screamo fan in my school who doesn't own a t-shirt like that.(sigh)

I know - but they are contrasting genres (Some metal is screamo and some screamo is metal!)
I don't really see the difference myself, but whatever you say!
The theme is similar, and the technique that is involved in production and writing in both genres is very alike.

You may be refering to Death Metal; but that isn't 'Screamo'.
Death Metal uses rowls and gutteral vocals. |

How is it a "fake" genre?
Not all screamo is a person screaming for a whole song (Actually none of it is like that :3), here's a good example - Escape The Fate - The Flood, and 30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill, what genre would you consider these songs?
