The title is not my actual suggestion. Read before flaming.
Yeah, war group raids are really easy to cheat in, I'm sad to say. Yes, I'm in a war group, in fact, there's a clan that my group is apparently at war with who my group raided and won, yet still says that they beat us.
Lulz.
So yeah, that's a nice story and such, but where's the suggestion?
Before the suggestion, I present the problem:
War group raiding and such doesn't work. Groups can raid each other, and even if the place is fair and the raiders take over, the owning group doesn't have to admit defeat.
It sucks for the raiders.
And this is very common, since the community of Roblox is so immature, they decide they have to win everything. Common sense just ain't so common here. So that's it, war groups and stuff are hard to interact with. Well here's a few suggestions that could just fix that.
But now you're going to say "WAR GROUPS AREN'T KID FRIENDLY AND ROBLOX IS SUPPOSED TO BE KID FRIENDLY AND ROBLOX DOESN'T PROMOTE WAR GROUPS". Well that stinks for you, Roblox isn't as kid-friendly as it would like to be, and it probably never will be. There's tens of thousands of people in many war groups, and wars and raids are going on all over Roblox. Deal with it.
So now the suggestion:
We need a set of rules for war groups, and we also need a good system set up by Roblox that will help us both maintain those rules, and help us make clan raiding work.
So basically, we need a war clan setup. First, how to create a war group:
When creating a group, you can choose one of two options: Create a group or create a war group. When creating a group, everything is just like it is now. For war groups, there's a few changes.
In normal groups, we have that "Group building" place on our page, but for war groups, we get a few things:
A headquarters
5 warzones (Warzone1, Warzone2, etc.)
Yeah, 5 warzones. You don't have to put 5 of them, but having all 5 spaces filled helps you when being raided.
Each place would be an actual place on Roblox that would have to be owned by someone in the group. There would be stuff in the Group admin section where the owner can place links to the HQ and warzone.
Also on the group page would be some new buttons, near where the "Join group" button is.
- Request alliance: This button would send a request for that group to be allied with your group. That group cannot take over your bases, but it can defend it if you choose (in the group admin tab)
- Add as enemy: This allows you to make this group an enemy. When you are the leader of a group that is enemies with another group, you get a new button:
- - Go to war: This button lets you declare war on a group. You are only allowed to
raid a group when you are at war with them. The war is explained below.
How the war works:
1) A clan makes another clan their enemy. There would be an actual section right above the group's description that shows allies and enemies, along with clans the group is at war with.
2) One clan goes to war with another. When you click on the go to war button, it shows a list of the groups you are leader of, and allows you to choose which group to put at war with the group you have chosen. Only war groups can become enemies, declare war, and request alliances.
3) On the "My Roblox" page of all the group members who are in the group declaring war, there is a small red bar above their feed that says "X group has declared war on Y", X being the group to declare war and Y being the group war has been declared on. This would show up on that same page for the members of the other group. There would also be a yellow bar on the My ROBLOX pages of the allied group members saying the same thing. If you are in both of the warring groups, then you'll have to pick a side. That won't be determined by Roblox, but by the group leaders (if they care).
4) When two groups are at war, all the group members in each group will be able to go to the enemy group's page, and raid their places. The first place you have to raid is Warzone1, then Warzone2, Warzone3, Warzone4, Warzone5, then the HQ. If you take their HQ, then you have beaten them until they take back ALL of their places.
If the enemy group has captured any of your places, you have to take them back in opposite order, so if your Warzones 1-4 have been captured, then you have to take back Warzone 4 first, then 3, 2, and finally Warzone1. Then you can start attacking the other group's places. While a place is under control of a group, the group that it originally belonged to can't go there except to take it back.
RAIDS MAY ONLY OCCUR when both sides have at least 4 members at the place. The default MaxPlayers of the place would be 14, and the lowest would be 10. Highest would still be 20. Neither team can go above 1/2 the MaxPlayers limit, so the defenders can't have 16 people on their team and leave the raiders only able to have 4.
5) Raids are declared on the screen of any member of both warring groups in the chat bar, so if FEAR starts a raid at RAT's Warzone1, then something gets shown in the chat bar of all members of both groups. It would basically announce that X group is raiding Y group at Z place, X being the raiders, Y being the defenders, Z being the place (Warzone1-5, HQ).
6) There would be 5 raidable servers per place. Each server has a "status", if its been raided and captured, then its status is "captured", and the owner has to raid it to gain possesion. If it's being raided, then its status is "Raiding". If it's waiting for people before the raid can start, then its status is "Waiting". If it hasn't been raided and is not in the process of being raided, then its status is "Safe".
How the places work:
Warzones:
- Roblox would have a set of starting terrains to choose from, and you would have to build off of one of them.
- There are a few different modes for raids in warzones: King of the Hill, Deathmatch,
and Last one standing.
- King of the Hill is obvious, once the raid starts, there is a "Hill", and to take control of it, you have to keep the enemy team out of the hill. As long as one team is in control, they gain points. After they have a certain amount of points, and they have a certain amount of points more than the enemy (you have to win by at least x amount of points), they are declared the winners of that raid.
- Deathmatch is also obvious, the teams fight and whoever gets X amount of kills (and wins by X amount of kills) first is the winner.
- Last one standing may not be as obvious, but it should still be pretty easy to understand. When you die a certain amount of times, then you get banned from the server for the duration of that raid. The team with the last member still in the server wins. Only a certain amount of people would be able to enter during that raid, and the number would be equal to the MaxPlayers of the place (same rules apply as in step 4 above).
HQ:
- You make the place yourself.
- There is only one raiding mode: King of the Hill. Same as above.
Any war place would be able to be reported for being unfair, even though Roblox will try to prevent that by placing certain built-in rules on the place (you can only have X cubic studs of bricks in this area, you can't put bricks here, you have to supply each team with similar firepower). However childish this may seem, it's completely needed for this type of system.
And yes, this would require a lot of work. Maybe Roblox could set aside a few hours or so per day/week to work on this feature, and eventually it would be complete. I'm not saying this would be easy to make in a few weeks, I'm just saying it's a feature that Roblox could look into and slowly implement.
And as for the war groups that already exist, well, Roblox would put a feature in groups that would allow them to switch between war group and normal group for maybe 25 R$. Not too pricy for a BCer, which you have to be if you are going to be a group
leader.
~~~ FAQ ~~~
Q: TL;DR
A: Too bad.
Q: Wouldn't this be really hard for Roblox to implement?
A: I answer that just a few paragraphs up.
Q: RoBLOX IS NOT A SITE FOR LITTLE KIDS TO GO TO WAR WITH EACH OTHER.
A: Roblox isn't as kid-friendly as it used to be. So many people trololo-ing, ODing, etc. that this definetely wouldn't be rated E by the ESRB. Face it, we aren't kid-friendly, and war groups are a pretty big part of Roblox, so why not make them an official system?
Q: What's the point?
A: To make War Groups better.
Q: NOU
A: NOU
Q: Pancaiks?
A: Yes.
Q: THIS IS COMPLETELY BESIDE THE POINT OF ROBLOX.
A: Like I've already said, Roblox war groups have been increasing in popularity for a while, and we can't deny the fact that they're a huge thing now. Since they're so popular, we oughtta embrace them and give them a big update :D
Q: WAR GROUPS ARE STUPID.
A: So are you.
Q: CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.
A: Get off mah thread. [insert flameshield here]
